110PCS Tap and Die Set, Metric Size M2-M18 Standard Threading Tool With Adjustable Handles, Accessories and Storage Case for Cutting External and Internal Threads

I needed this for the 12x1.25 die and tap. Cheaper sets didn't have that particular size. I cross-threaded a captured stud on a Toyota and needed to re-cut the threads. The die did the job easily with some Tap Magic. I also cleaned up the cross-threaded nut with the matching tap. The sizes were identical between the two. That bodes well for the other pieces in the set.Other reviews have gone over some of the shortcomings of the case. Yep, still there. That's fine since it's what's inside that matters.

I bought this to put some metric threads on a tool. It has a nice selection of male and female taps and dies, and matched the threads I needed. adequate quality for the price, but I am no expert in taps and dies.

I bought this set to tap the occasional metric hole and chase / renew messed up threads. Very large range of sizes. Taps and dies look good for the money. Decent grinding, no obvious flaws. Tap handles, wrenches and die stocks look so so. The die stock bodies are die castings. Not too concerned about them, have older USA made ones I can use. I imagine they would be OK though. The one fly in the ointment are the case inserts.They are very flimsy plastic. They will not retain the contents. The set arrived with half the contents all over the inside. Don't plan on carrying the case like a suitcase. The contents will get scrambled. I think I will cut pieces of thin plexiglas or heavy cardboard to put over each layer to make sure the contents don't fall out of the wells. Both inserts need to sit in the bottom of the case on top of each other. The one insert will not sit in the top of the case as shown in the photo. Also, one photo shows a thread pitch gauge, this is not included. I have some, so not a big deal. If you need a metric one or a thread checker, order one when you buy the set. Overall a good value for the price, given its one big flaw.Edit / Update - I cut two thin pieces of plastic and put one over each tray. When the case is closed the plastic keeps the contents in the individual wells. Problem solved.

Perfect for my mistakes!

I needed a metric set and bought this one thinking I wouldn't use it much. Some of the taps and dies cut nicely and others don't. My 40 year old Craftsman SAE set cuts better than these. I should have spent the money for better ones. Some times the cheep tools are as good as the expensive ones for everyday users but not this time.

I never used a tap set before but I needed only 1 tap for my project which worked perfectly. Used it to create 4 6mm threads and repaired and existing thread that had been damaged.Now that I have a full set, I'm ready to make or repair any bolt thread.

Bought 2 kits to use for cleaning threads out that have paint or dirt debris on threaded holes. Right out of the box I noticed that the sizes were barely visible and had to tilt and twist in the light to see the sizes. Then, just a trial run of the 8/32 size in a clean threaded part resulted in the tap breaking less than 5 minutes out of the box, and not being put under a load either. Low quality packaging, labeling, and performance. Once again, you get what you pay for....
