It's not thick, quite thin really, but that suits me as I have a memory foam mattress and find thickly padded mattress protectors aren't great with memory foam as they prevent the mattress from moulding to the body. The fitted side skirts seem to be cotton fabric unlike some protectors which are nylon or even paper-type fabric. I've given it 4 stars rather than 5 because it's not deeply padded or thick so not ideal if that's what you want. But it's perfect for me.

The fit is great and it stays in position well but it's not padded as it looks in the picture, it's really very thin. It does the job of covering the mattress but don't expect any padding or additional thickness.
