It feels like it's made out of air. I put in two triple A batteries and it worked immediately. I know that sounds silly, but nowadays I expect a bit more work to be involved when syncing up devices even if they are compatible. The shipping was worrisome at first, the delivery date kept being pushed back and honestly I'd already found my old universal remote right after I ordered this remote. However, this remote is much nicer than the Roku remote that initially came with my tv. Again, it is much lighter and has the option for volume control on the side. I broke the last one out of just-woke-up-don't-want-to-go-to-work anger (completely unrelated to the device itself) and plan to reorder this remote again if ever I smash this one too. Oh and I just noticed that the app options are different from my original remote. But that didn't even occur to me until I took a picture of the remote. It features Netflix, Sling, MGO, & rdio.

Worked with my 2016 roku. I had a hard time finding a remote that advertised my model number. Roku 5406X model number NS-48DR510NA17. It took some effort to couple. The on tv coupling wasnt working and then just when i was about to give up it miraculously worked. I think the trick was line of sight and turning the tv on and off once or twice.The quick menu buttons arent very useful they are for apps i havent even heard of. But i hardly use those anyways so it doesnt really effect me.

A perfect replacement. I don't know what in the world happened to my original remote, but it disappeared. I was afraid a replacement would cost that proverbial arm and leg, but this price wasn't bad at all. It's just like the original, so I don't have to relearn my remote. I often watch TV in bed at night, so it's nice knowing where the buttons are when it's dark, so I was thankful this was just like the original. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is possibly petty, but it's because there were no batteries included. Thank goodness I had a couple of AAA's around.

My kids destroyed the old remote by picking at the rubber D-pad until it came out. This remote was inexpensive and works just as well as the original on my Insignia Roku TV.

I am always pleased when something that is supposed to be simple actually is and works well. This is the case with this remote. The original remote for my TV got sent to an untimely end thanks to a dog and a teething toddler. The reviews for things like these are always hard to trust. However, for my experience all I had to do was install batteries and the remote worked without drama or the need to program it. Remotes really are old tech, so I am happy this was essentially a just add batteries and play scenario.

This is a perfect replacement remote control device for my Insignia Roku TV. Looks and works as well (if not better) than the original --which had inexplicably broken at the tip.UPDATE:In the past week or so, this device has on several occasions produced an onscreen alert indicating that the remote is overheating. This alert appears to be an unwarranted, false alarm, but is showing up with increasing frequency, often within less than an hour after using the remote to turn on my TV.
