Weird Construction but It's quite good!
This is a strange construction, but don't let that put you off this product. I have never seen anything like it. I just need to make you aware of it.The shelves fasten in the vertical side panels, not using screws or any usual type of fastening, but protrude through the side panels by a few millimetres and are fastened in place by small white circular rubber O rings! It's bizarre. But it works. Just be aware that the O rings are white in colour and are visible against the black wood. In the long term, I would expect the rubber O rings to degrade in sunlight and eventually break. Hang on to the spare O rings they provide.When it's all fastened together it is reasonably sturdy, but it is not intended for heavy items to be placed upon it. The shelves are very thin and do flex in the middle.It's not a solid wood construction fastened together with wood and screws and adhesive. But it does look quite nice (apart from the white rubber O rings!)For my purposes it is absolutely perfect. I place lightweight items such a battery chargers and battery powered appliance chargers on it, although I have had to remove a shelf to enable you place your hand in and insert the battery in to the chargers.I can recommend this for lightweight items and if you don't mind the white odd looking O rings!It is very easy to assemble, no tools are required. No screwdrivers, no glue, no hammers, nothing. Assembled in a matter of minutes, once you've overcome your surprise at the little rubber O rings!

Great product
This is a lovely little bookcase, which I bought to go beside my bed to hold all the books I am reading at night!! Looks lovely and feminine & goes beautifully with pink paintwork. This product is easy to build with the rubber bands but it's very sturdy. And it's also very easy to set up. Love it
