Wanderers in the New Forest

It is full of wisdom; fascinating. Tells of the author's time of living with her two small children in a cottage in the New Forest at the end of the 1950's. The author is a herbalist, and she writes informatively and evocatively about the plants, animals and people of the New Forest at that time.This is a book I have learned from and loved, and returned to time and time again.

unusual good book

I'm a huge fan of Juliette and have read almost all of her books. This one was one of the most difficult to get my hands on, but it was worth it-- although Summer in Galilee is still my favorite, I was fascinated by the setting of this one. I am planning to visit New Forest on my next UK trip and reread this memoir beforehand. Juliette was a unique voice and her contribution to herbal knowledge, Romany studies, and the local history of the places she lived is immeasurable.Those who discover her are lucky indeed.

Book is in great shape. It arrived on time as promised. The only thing that I didnt realize was that it isnt illustrated like the hard cover. I would have liked the illustrated version. Otherwise, this was a great purchase.
