As an old bloke, I wouldn’t pay this much for a mug, but I recognise that this is a premium brand, and the matt black finish looks very stylish, so I concede to the concept. (My son, who’s more au fait, confirmed that it’s a good example of S’well quality.)It’s very well made and finished. It’s good for its purpose, travel:-It’s substantial, but not too heavy-It has a good capacity, but it’s not huge like most thermal mugs, so it’s a practical size to carry-It keeps hot drinks hot for at least half an hour, and cold drinks cold for even longer-The handle is comfortable to hold when on the go-The see-through lid lets you know how much drink you have left-The lid has a rubber gasket, which stays put, so the mug really is watertightThe base is fairly large, so the mug is well-balanced and stableIt’s dishwasher-safe, which will be be important for many buyers.

I feel very posh with my S’well insulated mug - it looks very fancy and it's comfortable to hold and drink from.The matte black finish is slightly textured and it looks nice but I found it a little rough to drink out of at first although I did get used to it and I don’t even notice it now.Although the lid fits very securely, it’s not the type of travel mug you can stick in a bag but rather one you would keep a hold of. It has a slide open lid that slides very smoothly so you can access your drink without taking the whole lid off.Even with the slider open, my coffee stays hot for hours, which is ideal for me as I often forget about my hot drinks when I’m working on my computer - no more unpleasant tepid coffee for me!The price is the only real negative I can think of with this S’well mug but if it’s within your budget then I would recommend it.

This is my second S'well product. The first one got 5 stars. I cant rate this one highly. There are a few issues:First, the cup is easily unstable with the slightest knock due to its narrower base and it's weighted handle.Secondly, although the contents only come into contact with the steel making it plastic safe to a certain extent, what I didn't like is that the plastic lid is not anti-spill. Even holding the cup at a slight unsteady angle will cause it to drip. The sliding spout to drink from also leaks freely when the cup destabilises such as when you're driving with a full cup in the cup holder over a speed bump or around a roundabout.Would I recommend it?No. Not in its current state.2 stars

This cup looks good, it’s made from stainless steel inside, outside it has quite a rough exterior, but it looks premium and feels solid in your hand. The top which is a clear plastic, fits snugly and has a slide opening to drink from.I made my usual cup of coffee in it this morning and at 4pm it’s now room temperature, so that’s a good 7 hours ago. It kept my drink hot for around couple of hours, slowly getting cooler, but it was still fairly warm by early afternoon.I did have a bit of trouble getting the lid off, and when tipped with liquid inside it did keep the liquid in providing it was only tipped away from the drink opening as even when fully closed the drink opening is not sealed.It’s a nice mug for having a cuppa, and it kept my drink warm enough for me to finish it even at a leisurely pace, but it’s certainly not leak-proof and shouldn’t be used as such. I use a leakproof travel mug for my days in the office, and I can fill it up, close the lid and put it in my bag without fear of getting coffee everywhere (within reason, I’m not doing handstands with it upside down or anything), and if that’s what you want, this is not for you. But if all you want is a nice looking mug to carefully move around with, rinse out, then pop in your bag when empty, this is perfect.I do think it’s a tad on the pricey side though, looks aside, you can get much cheaper alternatives.

This is a really good quality insulated mug that also has a clip onto that will further improve the same characteristics however this would not make it leak proof in a bag, so be warned! Quality of the hours to finish and the Matt grip material is excellent. Weight wise, it is no more or less heavy than a normal ceramic mug but feels well made with a comfortable handle.

Great for the morning commute as I can put my coffee in and then throw the mug about without any worries or concerns of it leaking! It's really easy to open and to take sips, and it keeps my coffee super hot! Would recommend!

This is a good little travel mug that while it has only a small capacity, does a good job at keeping hot drinks warm. Four stars.

A great little mug. It has a nice outer look and it is so functional. This mug is perfect for the office! It kept my morning coffee hot for a longer period now. The stainless steel material makes this durable for outside but also helps keep your drink cold. It also has a slide closure so no worries about bugs crawling inside.
