Alpinestars XCR Gore-Tex boots review
This is a great pair of motorcycle boots at a very reasonable price. I've paid way more for boots that don't perform anywhere near as well as these do. The boots were comfortable right out of the box with no break in period required. The boots flow a good amount of air but it's really the XCR Gore-Tex liner that makes them so effective in hot weather. the XCR liner was specifically designed for footwear and works better than any other waterproof membrane that I've tried (which has been several). I've gone through 3 different pairs of summer boots from other manufacturers trying to find one that works well but these Alpinestars boots have them all beat hands down. The one negative that I've found is that there isn't a lot of grip to the soles which can be a little slick at times. The boots stay dry inside even when they were wet on the outside and the sizing is true. I haven't had any issues with the buckle system and the boots come with a smaller strap set if you wanted to swap them out for a smaller size. This boot has some protection but it wasn't designed to be an adventure or motocross boot so in comparison to those it's somewhat lacking but that's the trade off for a super breathable boot in the hotter months of the year. I would definitely recommend this boot.

Waterproof, comfortable, versatile, hold up to abuse
Bought these boots for a dualsport trip in Ecuador that never happened. Ended up on the California coast for a week, including riding through saltwater sand and surf and walking through 10 inches of water in a stream. Stayed dry throughout except when ocean water poured over the tops, but then dried remarkably quickly. Boots were comfortable for walking right out of the box and comfortable on cold wet rides as well as 80 degrees and prolonged, direct sunlight (which burns up my feet in my other black riding boots). I felt traction was fine even on rough terrain.Would happily give these a 5 star rating, but I find the velcro flap closure and folding goretex liner uncomfortable on the outside of my shin when I first put them on and somewhat when walking. Also, releasing the ratchet strap to get the boot off is tricky with one hand. Bit of a pain. Net/ net will be hanging on to these for a long time since after a week of constant abuse, they look, feel and function great. These will be my go to, 4 season (northwest) boot for on and off road. Very versatile.

Hard to beat
I got this on what appears to have been a serious sale.I ride very often and the security these boots give me could be matched only by it's comfort. Fully locked in, it's still more comfortable than most of my regular boots. Maybe any of them. The only concern is the wear of the tip of the boot. I shift closer to my toe and the padding it closer to the middle of the foot. As a result I , Extremely quickly, wore the out outer layer of the synthetic material. The damage appears to be purely cosmetic but it still a shame. Still water proof, still rigid on top.10/10 would buy again.

Nice boots a little short and hot in hot weather
Great water proof boots and a little shorter than my full boots so a little more comfy. Wore them in the heat ~90f and my feet were baking. They "breathe" but not air just water vapor is my thought. Great boots not great for HOT weather in my opinion. I have the AS vented in this style and the water and air flow right through. Rather be wet than hot so in the summer will take my chances. Great cooler weather boot.

Comfortable and waterproof`
The velcro strap stayed closed better than the Alpine Stars Ridge WP boots. The ratcheting rear strap was easily adjustable plus providing a short set of straps for those who have thinner legs. Got them two days before going a 2500 mile trip. Experienced two days of rain and the boots stayed dry. Also experienced some cold weather (30's) and did not keep my feet warm, but they are summer boots so what do you expect with breathable boots. The boots are comfortable and are narrower than the Ridge WP boots.
