New Bible Commentary: 21st Century Edition (NBC/NBD)

I bought “New Bible Commentary” following extensive research on various Bible commentaries available on the market. I wanted to have one volume book which will give context to the history of the Bible and provide a more in depth understanding of Bible content. I really like it.The seller WeBuyBook stated that book is in “very good condition” as I bought it second hand. When I received it I was pleasantly surprised that book appeared brand new in the superb condition. Excellent seller and excellent book! Very pleased with my purchase and I would warmly recommend both!

Helpful for a general overview of the whole Bible. I use alongside my Bible for daily reading, to check I haven't missed any of the basics.

Handy for the Bible student who wants an overview or some pertinent detail. Some really good second hand bargains out there.

Excellent commentary really well put together and indepth. This will help you go deeper into the scriptures, it will help you to look at things differently. It also gives you a clear understanding of the historical times of their laws and culture when the books of the bible were written in. It gives you a clear understanding who wrote the scriptures an insight into who they were and to whom their audiences were. I am fully enjoying this I believe it will help you in your journey and strengthen your faith

The Commentary is as described, and in very good condition! There was a problem with its arrival- and the seller was extremely helpful and patient as the problem was not with them but they still assisted as much as they could- thank you!

Ok - but given the size I had hoped it would be more in-depth. Not my "go to" if I struggle to understand a biblical point and need a deeper understanding - I ordered the full set of Matthew Henry's commentary (6 Volumes) for that. As with all things, discernment needed directly from the Holy Spirit and the word of God.

I enjoy the fresh approach to exegesis.

There are many commentaries on my shelves, but this little one-volume commentary offers a lot. It is written for the layman and has maps and illustrations not normally found in traditional commentaries.
