Ayurvedic Medicine: The Principles of Traditional Practice Hardcover – 15 Sept. 2012

I find this textbook, written by Sebastian Pole (founder of Pukka herbs) to be thorough and well organised. It takes a vast, ancient subject and makes it accessible to western students. He certainly knows a great deal about Ayurvedic traditions, philosophy and medicine.

Anyone interested in Ayurvedic Medicine should get this book. It is simple and easy to understand and gives so much information in one book, that I have not found anywhere else.

This book is on a list of books I have been asked to get for a course I'm about to take at the CNM in London, so I expect it to be good.

I was so pleased when I opened my delivery and saw such a wonderfully produced book. The content, in terms of writing style and quality of presentation, is excellent. This is the standard of book that inspires me as a student of Ayurveda.The introductory chapters and case studies are a real inspiration in applying Ayurveda. The detail on herbs is the level I am used to from my medical training and years in the pharmaceutical industry.Sebastian Pole has written a classic.

A well written book with good information backed by reference to the source of knowledge. My only criticism is that it does not cover all the herbs used in Unani/Ayurvedic medicine. A good reference book well researched by a herbalist that knows what he is writing about.

This book is an excellent text on Ayurvedic medicine, especially the effect of various herbs and spices on the body. It's definitely not light reading for someone with a casual interest in Ayurveda, but for keen students this is an invaluable text.
