If by waterproof they meant not waterproof at all, I think they hit the mark. The locks themselves feel amazing. If I bought them to use inside, I would think they were great locks. Having them outside, though, means that they quickly corrode and become difficult to open. I have a pair of them on my shed, and I am just counting down the days until I have to use an angle grinder to cut through the shackles after the key no longer works. I have had them on the shed for all of about a month or month and a half, and the keyholes look as though they are a century old.

I purchased 2 of these. They look robust, but after just a couple of weeks they both seized up and the key stuck in one of them. When I tried to remove the key it broke off in the lock. I had to purchase a pair of bolt cutters to remove the lock. Even then I ended up having to cut an expensive long cable as the lock is hard to cut through (which would be good if the lock was not so poorly made, or the key so fragile.) All in all it ended up being a very expensive purchase.

If security is what you want then this is what you want. Stellar performance in keeping an honest man honest. The overall size and construction will also help in keeping would be criminals honest too. This lock performs at the top of its class

within a year the key no longer would open the lock...effectively locking me onto my property as I use the lock with chain on my gate.

Very heavy lock with thick rubber coating. Great product!

This lock is not very water resistant,the inside of it started rusting. Also a pin in the inner workings came out and now I can't get the key in anymore.

Nice big intimidating lock. Works well so far.
