Pleased With This Purchase
I am giving it 5 stars because of the availability from Amazon. This chinese spice cannot be found everywhere. It is in a glass container for long shelf life. The price was good too, just shake on your food, it is that easy.

Really Flavorful!! You Will Love It!
This is amazing!! Pungent and flavorful, I was blown away when I opened the jar and tasted a little. I have been experimenting with different marinades for crispy-skinned Chinese-style braised chicken thighs and this is hands down, the most authentic and authentic intense Five Spice powder I’ve ever used—it is improving everything I make with it!! Thank you!

Smells terrific
Haven’t used yet, but smells terrific. I bought this for a salad recipe I have. Can’t wait to try it out.

The is the real McCoy.
So much better than the ones overdosed with Star Anise.

The ONLY "TRUE" 5-Spice powder I've found online!
True Five Spice is made with Sichuan Peppercorn, which this brand does include! To save money, most Five-Spice blends substitute Sichuan with white peppercorn or some other peppercorn. . McCormick, the mass producer of spices doesn't even use ANY peppercorn in their five-spice blend, they substitute ginger! Even in our local chinese grocery stores (we have 5 within 40 miles) the cheap 5-spices don't use Sichuan peppercorns. And YES, IT ABSOLUTELY EFFECTS THE FLAVOR. Compared side-by-side, Sichuan peppercorns have a distinctly different aroma / flavor. McCormick, the mass producer of spices doesn't even use ANY peppercorn in their five-spice blend, they substitute ginger! That said, my first use of this particular 5-Spice was in a batch of Chinese boneless spare ribs like they sell at the Chinese take-out places. My kids are pretty particular about their chinese take-out, if my homemade version is 'off', they let me know rather quick. I was pleased that they were happy to gobble up all of the boneless spare ribs that I put on the table. And I agree with them, the flavor was spot-on for our local chinese take-out place.Very pleased.
