I've always been drawn to the industrial look, so have no qualms about using these units in a domestic setting. They look great, to my eye, and fit together quickly to build a unit of considerable strength and utility. And, of course, they're a fraction of the cost of a traditional piece of furniture. The drop-in shelves can be painted, varnished, or covered. Secure the uprights to a wall for safety, and ensure that heavier items are kept at the bottom. Perfect for those starting to furnish their first home, or anyone who likes a pared-down look. No reason to leave these to the garage, unless your partner really insists on shelling-out for mahogany. This shelving is a godsend. Packaged with mercifully clear instructions and a rubber mallet, the only additional tool you might need is a screwdriver to encourage the occasional recalcitrant tab into its proper slot. Once you are in the rhythm, it is straightforward to assemble and can as easily be disassembled if you decide to change shelf heights, for example. The shelves are sturdy and stable once assembled, and can be bolted into the wall or joined together if you so wish. My only wish would be for Storalex to sell extra shelf units, but you can't have it all.

These are great shelving solutions for the price, and the service and support from the seller is excellent. These are easy to assemble, and are fairly robust. Same issue as the larger units, if you build two levels and lift the unit, the top half can easily come detached, but once in place and loaded, this won't be an issue. So far I have only constructed two boxes. The first box set went up in 20 mins - everything fitted, no need for any adjustment - brilliant. The second set, every single joint required attention with a screwdriver to get the tabs in the slots - it must be me.. they are all made the same, so it has to be me...took ages. Fingers crossed for the third set!

These are well built shelving units, more than adequate for my garage and shed storage needs. The units fit together easily using the supplied mallet and it is easy to move the position of a shelf after assembly. The uprights have handy holes for bolting together two or more bays, or for fixing to a wall, which I would recommend for the best stability. The only (minor) gripe I had is that Amazon do not offer additional shelves, although these are available direct from Tufferman, albeit with a delivery charge. All in all, a great product which I am very pleased with.

These shelves pop together really easily with a little help from a rubber mallet to ensure they seat properly. Not having much space I put them together from ground up which was a little awkward without assistance. Some of the boards were very slightly bowed but caused no issues. Once complete they look really good and are solid and stable though I secured them easily to a wall for safety. I'd happily recommend them.

Easy to put together and really sturdy for the price. After an initial purchase of one set of 45cm and one set of 60cm 6 months ago. I have just ordered another three sets for my storage unit. I'm a builder so they get quite a bit of abuse. They are still in tip top condition. Well worth the money.

As others have mentioned, they're pretty wobbly. They do the job though and they don't seem to be in danger of falling down. They're pretty lightweight, so they're easy to drag into place once built. I have other shelves of the same sort of construction but much heavier gauge metal - those are reassuringly rigid. If I was going to be using the shelves often, pulling things on and off them which are heavy, I'd want the sturdier ones. "Willowy" was the word that came to mind while I was building them. I can make them sway several inches by prodding one corner with my finger but the shelves don't sag. The connection between the lower and upper sections is the weak spot, after building the first of 3 sets of shelves I realised that placing a shelf on the bottom section which pinched the connector piece in place helped. On the first set it was far too easy to lift the top section off the bottom section accidentally. I paid as much for this set of 3 as I did for 1 reassuringly sturdy unit - you get what you pay for. They're OK, but they're not heavy duty.

I bought two lots and have been extremely impressed. I bought these several months ago and waited for a while before writing a review. The items arrived as promised. Having purchased a larger mallet based on previous reviews this was needed as the one supplied is too small. To put up the shelving is easy enough once you get in to a routine. Highly recommend purchasing this shelving.
