The Blackbird
Brilliant read. A truly fascinating story a real page turner. I loved the mystery and the characters, the twists, especially the very unexpected ending. I hope the next book carries on this mystery.

Be Kind, Rewind
Great thriller writing, erie tale that gets right into your brain, body & soul. David Raker investigates missing persons. In this case, he is asked to find a married couple whose car crashes, and they simply disappear. Two women witnessed the crash, so that is where Raker begins his investigation. Wow, what the investigation discovers is incredible, along with a secret that Raker does not want to be investigated. Great thriller writing, throughly enjoyable.

Reads well but a disappointing story
I bought this as a 99p deal because it seemed intriuguing. The writer can write effectively (not always the case) but the plot is ludicrous and I am left with a feeling of frustration. Admittedly, this is quite common after getting to the end of this type of crime novel. I suspect I will have to look for a different genre to satisfy my book addiction.

A really good read.
It was quite an ingenious story line that kept you guessing all the time. Perhaps a tad unbelievable in parts, but still an enjoyable detective novel that I would recommend.

Stunningly Brilliant!!!
What more can I really say - Tim Weaver's ability to construct such depth with just written words is a feat of genius!!The plots might seem far fetched but I actually think that given how unpredictable human are the plots in these books are representative of true life! I'd love to see what comes out of the conversations with those responsible for ITV 'Line of Duty': maybe the BBC should consider commissioning a serious like JK Rowling pseudonym serious 'Strike'!Will look out for anything you do in the near future when your out & about meeting your army of readers.

Will probably make my BEST READS IN 2024 list
This is an elaborate, somewhat complex and exciting tale. It is also well-written even though I am not a big fan of multiple time-lines. On the flip-side, it is too long and there are quite a few over-the-top plot elements. I'll definitely be going back for more. 4.5*

good read
As usual, plot and place good. The guilty party explaining himself a bit long at end but before an excellent final twist.Five stars for the author but less for the editors as the print is small so when have whole chapters in italics not easy pn the eyes and the inserts on the text are even smaller!

Suspenseful to read but a total cheat in the end..ridiculous.
I read a lot of crime. On this one I cant understand the good reviews.Spoilers! The investigator and investigations are well told, difficult to stop reading...But the end is ridiculous....The motivation of the culprits is preposterous...it is totally unbelievable and doesnt make sense. What really made me angry was that the description of the crime scene in the beginning, which is the most intriguing part is a lie....As in all bad crime, the culprit in the end gives long monologues how they did and why...Rule No 1 of Crime. Show dont tell. And it turns out what the author "showed" us in the beginning could not have happened in the described way...the whole mysterious crime scene...months of advanced crime scene investigation leading to nothing was why this was a mystery. But it could not have happened that may:Spoilers:The husband was "bleeding profusely, blood everywhere", yet inicially it there was no mention of blood...They had to drag out two severely injured bodies, bleeding through a ravine, which they hadnt planned, within minutes of a fireball and the emergency services arriving...there would have blood everywhere...footprints in the soot...all around...drag marks of the bodies being carried...the criminal did not have a car ready down there but up the top...total fraud....lazy rip off author!

Excellent.
I've read this as an ebook in just over a day, simply couldn't put it down. I've listened to quite a few of his books as audio, l prefer them to reading it doesn't tire the eyes and the actors reading make it somehow more real. Tim Weaver is an incredible author who gives depths to his characters and immerses you into the scenes he describes with infinite detail. Love it! Can't wait for his next book.
