I just went on a Mr Kipling buying jag and bought three different things to try. Angel slices, cherry bakewells, and french fancies. The angel slices were hands down my fave. One of the reason I like European desserts is that they tend to be less sweet than the knock-you-down-with-sugar desserts you get here in the States. Angel slices are sweet but also light and almost fluffy. They have almost a marshmallowy vanilla flavor and come in tiny slices so that one is perfect for a treat. I wish I could get these in a store. The wait for them to cross the pond is excruciating. 😔

Yum!
I love these desserts from Mr. Kipling. They have a great selection of cookies and desserts. I love the flavor because they do not stuff them full of sugar. Kids will love these cookies and desserts.

These Go Way Beyond Bad And Verge On Evil!!!
The glowing reviews of these 'cakes' (in the loosest possible sense of the definition of cake) caused me to buy them along with an order of robust English tea (which in the event fully lived up to its definition of robust tea). They looked a bit dodgy to me even as I looked at them in their individual plastic containers but trusting to the five star reviews I dove in. These things are utterly horrible. They are just mushy, mealy, sugar gut bombs that are so unpalatable that I thought I had eaten four of them and found the next day that I had three remaining. After the first two, I thought that I should give them a fair shot at changing my initial revulsion and so went back and ate (as I thought) two more to confirm my worst fears. These are frightfully bad. So bad, in fact, that I had to read the contents just out of morbid curiosity. Sure enough, apart from Wheat (proportionately the third most ingredient in the mix) these are nothing but sugar and fat: #1 Sugar #2 Vegetable Oils (fat) #4 Glucose Syrup (sugar) #5 Vegetable Glycerin (fat) #6 Vegetable fats (fat) #7 Dextrose (sugar) #8 Dried Egg White (finally something neither fat nor sugar) #9 Whey powder (Whoops, fat again) #10 Corn Starch. There is no flavor to speak of, other than cloying sweet sugar burn and, as I said, the texture is mushy and mealy.I'm not a food snob. I eat fast food often. In fact I went to not one, not two, but THREE fast food joints today for coffee drinks and a fried fish sandwich.I bought a lot of these as giveaways to customers because I thought they'd be a novel treat but I gotta say, I'm going to apologize as I leave them. I have to imagine that we can make things that are every bit as loathsome right here in the USA. I find that my guys like the cakes from Sara Lee, which are admittedly a bit much for me for pretty much the same reasons that I don't like these--only less so-- but I will eat one of those on occasion and sometimes almost enjoy it.

Far smaller than they used to be and not good enough to justify import
Far smaller than they used to be and not good enough to justify import. I was also somewhat taken aback to receive the cakes removed from the sleeve with all the nutritional information and ingredients on it. I cannot easily use these cakes without that information due to family allergies. I can probably google for it, but really should be receiving packaged food items IN their proper packaging. I will not be purchasing again from this seller for that reason.
