I got this for my teen to give him a head start with his finances and it really delivered. We read it together on a long cross country trip that we recently took. So we had plenty of time to discuss everything. I was afraid it would read like a dry text book but it doesn’t. Instead, much to my surprise, it was written in a practical straightforward manner in a way that wasn’t boring and kept both of us engaged. We both especially enjoyed the section on zero based budgeting. It’s been great to see my son’s money skills grow as he’s practiced planning and saving for things he wants to buy. He’s also started to save for emergencies which is a great thing as well. This book covers other real life essentials like using credit cards and avoiding avoiding scams, which are things I wish I had learned as a teen. I’m so glad I found this book and that we were able to read it together. My son learned a lot and it helped me as a parent do a better job teaching these essential life skills to him. Great book!

This read gave me great insight to help my financial decision-making along with my bad spending habits. Even though this is for teens starting out, this book gave great advice on the discipline that is needed to sustain a healthy financial life! This is worth the time!

This would be an excellent book to use in life skills classes for students in high school. Very informative and helpful!

As the mom of a teen, I struggled with figuring out how to teach her financial literacy, a subject that is unfortunately just barely touched on in school. Thankfully, I found this book, which does the job for me in a well-organized, easy to understand, and FUN way - just what teen readers need. I wish I had had a copy of this book when I was younger so I too would have had a framework to go by as well as tangible examples on how to make money, save and invest it, and ultimately protect it. In fact, I would say this book isn't JUST for teens and can help adults get a handle on their finances also. Teens and adults alike will benefit from the well-laid out and informative chapters that demystify the budgeting, investing, and credit card worlds (and more!). I strongly recommend it!

This is a good 'must read' for teens. Concepts were easy to read and understand and helpful throughout the various stages of life. I found that many of the items discussed here were items that we discussed with both of our teens through the years. 'Treat savings like an expense.' - brilliant way to look at it.

An informative guide to help teens learn the tools, strategies, and resources they need to manage finances. They are practical and easy to implement. There are concepts here that I was not aware and others I would benefit from in my youth. Starting early makes a huge difference.

Great financial advice book that every parent should explore with their teen. Full of tips and sound advice on how to manage your money as you reach adulthood. Much of the 'firsts' described should be taught in schools - how to pay bills, how to interview, how to control spending, but they don't which makes this book invaluable. I am UK based so some of the content is not relevant but still the basis of the advice remains a must read for any teens or parents of teens looking to get a head start in life.

This book is a great reference, not only for teens but for adults as well. I wish I had this book to read when I was a teen/early 20s. It covers a lot of topics that teens don't even think about. Awesome book to help them prepare for the future.
