Product Description Debut studio album by the American singer, featuring the hit singles 'Tik Tok' and 'Blah Blah Blah'. Review Anyone who has enjoyed the woozy charms of Ke$ha’s global hit Tik Tok, or the equally pie-eyed follow-up Blah Blah Blah may find themselves wondering if she can sustain her drunk girl shtick for an entire album. The fact that there’s a song here called Party at a Rich Dude’s House will not alleviate this concern one bit. Actually, it’s not that bad. The musical extremes on offer here can be mapped out in a triangle, with Kelly Clarkson at one corner, Princess Superstar in another, and Fergie in the third. So you get rocked-up songs about being a dirty stop-out; poppy dance songs about being a dirty stop-out; and power ballads about feelings. The revelation is that Ke$ha can really properly sing, and she does. Stephen, a vulnerable ode to an unreliable crush, begins with beautiful layered a cappella harmonies. Sure, it tumbles into clunky pop straight afterwards, but then, that also seems to be what she does: beautiful things are bashed against ugly things, pretty melodies ruined by silly noises, emotional lyrics stuffed with buzzwords.Brilliantly, the most heartfelt moment on the album, the huge ballad which shows off her impressive bellow off to its best advantage, and the song which should take her furthest from her infamous party animal persona, is called Hungover. Clever and stupid, in equal measure: that’s the Ke$ha way.Best of all is D.I.N.O.S.A.U.R., which could’ve been especially created to drive rock-bores into a state of spluttering fury. It is made of nothing but sugar and sass and additives, a song from a young girl to an older man who is attempting to pick her up in a club. All she has to offer him is a scattergun spray of insults, and cutie-pie whistling. It’s childish and Parental Advisory Required at the same time, and is going to infuriate any adult within hearing range. That’s basically what Ke$ha is for. She’s a poster girl for youth gone wild, and to do that properly, you’ve got to be as annoying as you are charming. She does it properly. --Fraser McAlpineFind more music at the BBC This link will take you off in a new window

Great Fun!
Animal is a fantastic debut album with very few let-downs! I first noticed Ke$ha after hearing her live at T4 Stars Of 2009 and was very impressed! She then released 'Tik Tok' and 'Blah Blah Blah' which are great and shot to success.1. Your Love Is My Drug - 9/10, a great chorus. Perfect for dancing to!2. Tik Tok - 9.5/10, an incredible song. One of the highlights!3. Take It Off - 9.5/10, great fun with a poppy chorus. It will get you dancing!4. Kiss N Tell - 10/10, best song on the album. Terrific verses mixed with a bit of Avril Lavigne style singing.5. Stephen - 9/10, the first and best ballad. This is not Ke$ha's style so she does extremely well to change.6. Blah Blah Blah - 9.5/10, even though 3OH!3 weren't needed, this is a fun and meaningless song with a catchy chorus. Perfect!7. Hungover - 8/10, another ballad. Slightly weaker than 'Stephen' however it still carries a great tune!8. Party At A Rich Dude's House - 9/10, a thorough party-starting tune based on an experience at Paris Hilton's house.9. Backstabber - 10/10, A stand-out and somewhat emotional song!10. Blind - 7.5/10, a good use of auto-tune but lacks any sort of change in pitch.11. Dinosaur - 8.5/10, a use of funny lyrics and all-out party material makes this song another good one.12. Dancing With Tears In My Eyes - 6.5/10, a slight let-down with no real flow but still one worth listening to.13. Boots & Boys - 9/10, a fantastic pre-chorus which sounds familiar...14. Animal - 9/10, she really does let out her inner animal in this song!15. VIP - 8.5/10, a really fun song: where it lacks tune change, it makes up for in pure electro pop.16. Dirty Picture - 8/10, nothing outstanding but Taio Cruz backs Ke$ha up well. So, overall, this album is fantastic and thoroughly deserved to be number one in America. Furthermore, the two bonus tracks ('VIP' and 'Dirty Picture') added a very nice touch! Put this on at a party and people will be dancing 'til midnight! Very impressive!

Ke$ha - Animal
I bought this album solely for the track 'Take it off' which I found on youtube. iI was delighted to find some other pounding dance tracks. Sublety is not a quality to be found here, but ,hey, if you want some fun fast and furious 'rock chick' music you won't be dissapointed. Tik Tok, Kiss n tell, blah blah blah, Animal, V I P, all fun thumping heavy synthesizer tracks will grow and grow on you. Reminds me of Katy Perry, but not quite as RUDE!

Great album
I purchased the album on vinyl via (not directly from) Amazon and I'm very satisfied with it. The highlights (in my opinion) are Dancing With Tears In My Eyes, Take It Off, Blind and Your Love Is My Drug.
