Superunknown [20th Anniversary Double LP] [VINYL]

A Classic outing from Soundgarden. Just Epic. Holds it's own now even after 30 years!!!

I'm not going to comment on the music itself. If you are buying the vinyl you are undoubtedly already a fan. I just wanted to comment on how good the vinyl pressing is. You get a really nice double album sleeve with a lovely booklet and the vinyl is a top quality 180g pressing. The sound quality is amazing, the mix is a little quiet but if you have a nice system it won't be a problem.

Outstanding! I bought this record in 97 on CD. I got back into vinyl, I thought buy superunknown on vinyl! Make no mistake the sound quality, if have a decent setup, is truly great. I read the reviews, it’s underwhelming, quiet, etc... from someone who is obsessed with sound quality, absolutely, buy it! I will take this record to the grave. RIP Chris

I’ve read some of the other reviews and can agree and disagree. The album has been remastered from the original analog recording thus making it sound on some systems a little quite and not as honest as it should. My system is by no means great but since spent good money on my stylist it’s made a difference. The album is a classic buy it , you will love it .

This is a fantastic pressing with a lovely booklet. I would highly recommend this item as it looks and sounds amazing.

So pleased to get hold of this for such a low price. Absolute classic, transports me straight back to my grunge days of the 90s.

I was a huge fan of Soundgarden's earlier work and gave this album a miss first time round thinking it was a bit of a sell out. But it's actually a pretty good album, radio friendly (now classic) tracks included. Was a little hesitant to get on vinyl due to criticism of the sound quality but found mine to be really good. The opening track had an odd mix with the vocal and guitar up front and the drum and bass mixed low and a bit over compressed for my ears. But from there on all the tracks open up and even out for a pretty good mix.

If Marduk ate the best band in the world, this band comes a close second with limo wreck being the my all time favourite song followed by black hole sun!!

Good album decent...sound quality.

Anyone who said this was not mastered well or that this is a bad pressing probably has a really bad turntable setup or maybe are listening through plastic ipod headphones. This pressing while not the cutting edge of audiophile grade sounds really nice on a reference system! 2xHS8's, 1xHSs Driven through a AT-PL120 Nag naked cartridge. Remember a bunch of these songs were recorded prior to the majority of computer digital systems tape banging distortion off the compressor that's just part of this grunge era sound. Instead of perfect everything you got some crunch and fuzz. I personally think it all comes across just great on this album. 100% worth the buy Chris's voice comes out as pure as silk nestled in deep chunky guitar riffs.
