The British Empire Student Book Second Edition (KS3 History Depth Study)

Bought on a Thursday, and it arrived on a Saturday! Book itself is very good and informative. I would definitely recommend this book and author!!!!!

Great book offering America, India, Africa, Australia case studies as well as legacy and decline. Contemporary issues are linked in and embedded with each chapter. It is much better than the African Kingdom ls depth study which is very limited in scope and details 3 very similar empires on the west coast.I use this book to plan lessons at ks3 and will be using it more next year.

A comprehensive case study book on the BE, really helpful for teacher planning and subject knowledge.

I was immensely impressed with the work that has gone into this book. It gives a real focus to improving students knowledge and understanding of the British Empire and its global impact. The four case studies; British America, British India, Australia and the British in Africa provide an in depth study of how these places were colonised, conditions under the Empire and their journey to independence. I found, in addition to a great student book, it is also useful for teachers looking to develop their teaching of the Empire in schools and their knowledge of this significant topic.

The students are already loving this book. Love the fresh perspectives it gives. They like the way it is laid out and how it hooks them in. The retrieval spreads at the end of the care studies are a nice touch. Well worth it.

Very readable with a great narrative thread. Clearly formatted and structured with a very readable style of writing. Sources of material are interesting and varied.

Une très bonne manière de découvrir l'histoire de l'Angleterre de façon chronologique et thématique, ce qui est rare.Dommage qu'il n'existe pas une version avec les réponses pour permettre un travail en autonomie pour les élèves ou simplement pour les enseignants dont l'histoire n'est pas la discipline majeure.
