Moonflower Sproutlings!
Nicked, soaked overnight, and planted 12 seeds the day after receiving them on 4/4/24. Five of the twelve had large cotyledons about 7 days after a warm spell.Four other seeds are still germing, roots look healthy, but delayed in sprouting. Maybe it's because I didn't nick them enough? Moonflower seeds are tough as pea gravel. The directions say use a "nail" file. Yeah right. The seed wore down my nail file, so I used a ceramic pedi file. Bad for fingers, so needle nose pliers it is. Success! It worked so well I might have gone too deep on one without realizing. Wouldn't classify this as a seed for beginners.Succession planted 12 more seeds on 4/26/24. The next trick will be to find a dark place to grow them in an urban setting, even our country home is well lit because of all the wildlife (bears).

Good seeds but moonflowers can be challenging to grow. Here's how.
I have purchased twice from here. There is a bit of a trick. Seeds need to be able to absorb moisture and they are essentially rocks, so you need to score them. Soak in a glass of water for 3 days. They need to be very wet to germinate and then once they do, they should not be wet, but damp or they will rot. After two or 3 days of soaking, I can pretty much tell which ones will germinate as they grow in size. I do the damp paper towel method for another 2 days and they germinate. I transfer to starter trays and they all work. They need a lot of light to start. They need a lid on the tray. The seed coating may dry up otherwise and the leaves can't come out. Make sure they are well established before planting. Do this and you will be happy. It is a lot of work but very worth it.

Love these
I bought these seeds and I planted around 3. I didn’t soak them in water at all I just put them right in the pot and gave them a drink and placed it in the sun. 3 days later I come check on them and I saw a gorgeous baby leaf’s there! I was so shocked and I went to check on my other 2 seeds that I planted, they had grown a root and I could see the leaf inside! After reading the reviews I was very shocked due to the fact I never soaked them. I decided 2 nights ago to sow these seeds inside (wet paper towel). And holy moly 2 days later I come to look and all of them had already started to germinate, there were big root coming out after 2 DAY!! I am very amazed and have order more pots to plant these in. I’m hoping to put these in my yard soon. I love these seeds and can’t rap my head over the germination rate!

Beautiful
Had this flower last year. It was beautiful when it bloomed. Looking forward to this one blooming. Fast sprouter and fast growing too. Blooms only last one day though.

~80% germination, < 10% growth into actual plants
I started these in seed starter trays in April (it really doesn't get warm enough to plant outside here until May/June) and almost all of them germinated. But unfortunately most of the seedlings didn't make it even though they were in the sun & constantly moist.Out of one entire packet of seeds, I got only 3 plants to reach maturity in pots/hanging baskets. They haven't flowered yet either -- whereas morning glory seeds I started at the same time, have been flowering for weeks. Kind of a disappointment. But the vines are pretty.I was really hoping for some giant moonflower blossoms... But it's past mid-August already, and no flowers yet... So I doubt I'll get any, if I haven't by now. Sigh.

Pitiful!
I ordered these remembering as a child them trailing our yard and the smell as they opened up at night. About four weeks ago I started them in my greenhouse indoors under warm, hydroponic conditions. Not one seed sprouted not one. I bought two seed packets don’t buy from this company. They obviously sent very old, dead seeds and I am ashamed that I fell for the tricks of seed companies. I guess I should only buy from reputable places, but nobody had moonflower seeds, just a waste of my money and I hope that you will listen and not waste yours

Brought 2 packs separately
Brought 2 packs at different times one batch were climbers the other crawlers. So some cover my fence once the took off, the other appear randomly all over from tendrils. They were a little slow to start , but once they were getting son they really took off. Both love to climb anything near them: other plants poles, ac units, rails, chairs; so you can have a lot of fun if you got brick brac or stuff for them.
