Really Useful Plastic Storage Box 48 Litre Clear

Had an old metal filing cabinet that had died! so looked around for something to replace it with,This does the trick beautifully (have it in a kitchen cupboard tucked out of the way - obviously heaver when filled but dont use it daily!)GREAT quality item, toughened plastic, easy to open and close. Fantastic storage boxes! They are very sturdy and the fastening handles are great. After buying these I don't think I'd buy another brand, definitely the best I've had.

Have purchased a number of storage boxes over the years, but this is without a doubt the best I've purchased--it has built-in rails for A4 suspension files. Seals well, stacks well, and a very heavy duty product built to last, and to stack very well, with no risk of collapse. Will definitely be adding more of these and replacing older, poorer quality products. Highly recommend.

For long term storage I find these boxes to be probably the best of their sort around. They are very strong and made of that good quality reassuring firm but soft to the feel plastic (I have no idea of technical descriptions that would be apt here) rather than the very hard plastic that initially gives an impression of strength but which ultimately reveals itself as brittle and snaps or breaks under pressure! These are much better than that. They are stackable on top of one another but note they do not nest when empty.The blue handles that secure the lid do not fit tightly and they fall down easily unless the box is very full and hence the lid under just the right amount of pressure (too much and the lid won't fit) to ensure a tight fit. But this is a problem with all Really Useful boxes I find (I have many of various sizes). It can be annoying on smaller boxes but I can usually live with this.If you intend storing files in these boxes, check carefully you buy the right size. This particular box will accommodate A4 sized files only. They are great for my many A4 sized lever arch files but they won't take my spring coil flat transfer files or the suspension files they sit in. Almost all such files are FOOLSCAP (look on any stationery site and you'll be hard pressed to find such files in A4 size). For these you'll need a bigger box.I score these boxes highly but they would have got a FIVE were it not for the fact that four of the eight boxes I purchased had an A5 sized sticker on the lid addressing the boxes to the Amazon depot in Coalville which are IMPOSSIBLE to remove without a substantial effort of time and hot water and maybe a knife. The other four had the lid taped down with masses of aged and decaying sticky tape which broke easily when pulled off and left pieces stuck on the box which one could not lift and, where it did lift, left a horrid sticky residue - again virtually impossible to remove. I gave up trying to make the boxes look pretty and, if this kind of thing offends you, you need to look elsewhere to buy them. You have to wonder at the mentality of people who think it's OK to put stickers, labels or tape on products knowing that it will require huge amounts of time and patience to get them removed.

I have many of the boxes from Really Useful Box Company. They are well sized and the company provides uses for all boxes, which are obviously specifically designed. I have had many of these boxes for around 10 years and they are still in first class condition, unlike the many other boxes I had from other sources. They are a little more expensive, but they are the most sturdy boxes I have come across and at the end of the day, you get what you pay for.I would recommend these boxes.

I love these boxes, they are a good size, very well made, sturdy, and stackable. I use them for storing files in my office and they take standard A4 ring binders easily. The clips keep them closed and they don't slip when stacked due to the recess in the lid. The reinforced corners protect them from knocks too. Highly recommended, much better value than the cheaper single thickness boxes.

Life throws up all sorts of paperwork 'rubbish' that you know if thrown away will be urgently required by bloody-minded officialdom the following week. So you store it. These are boxes are smart. cavernous and easy to handle. Wouldn't be without them.
