At first I thought this was just snake oil. No way it could do what the videos on youtube were showing. But I was wrong. It does exactly what it claims to do. Just amazing.Edge enhancements and the darks get darker with no discernible artifacts if you don't overdo it. I run mine at about 65% on "GAMING" mode. Hair follicles are pronounced as are blades of grass, trees and bushes. You really don't know what you're missing until you turn it off. Then you turn it back on and go "wow".Buy the DVP5000 if you ever plan on having 3D otherwise get this and save the money.I have 2 and one has done a factory reset on its own. Annoying, but hardly a deal breaker. It is stupid the way an HDMI plugs into one side and out the other unlike every other electronic device in your stack so you gotta accommodate that little silliness.All in all, a great device that makes the image "pop" even more so.

I have been using this unit for about 2 weeks now and the improvements are quite impressive. I am using this on a 1080p projector onto 92" screen for movies and cable tv. The bluray movies are amazing with a setting of just 55% and cable (1080i source upconveted to 1080p) looks much better than before at 45%. Easy to install. Just placed it in line from AVR to projector using 2 hdmi cables 6.5 ft and 25 ft respectively. Unit is small and the lights can be dimmed or set to off. Remote is super small and really a disappointment at this price point. My inital remote was DOA but Darbee was great and quickly sent out a replacement. The remote does work well, but will probably not see a lot of use. All things considered a great addition to my home theater that will get me a few more years out of my projector before replacing. Is this unit right for a tv under 65 "? Probably not. Unit is 5 stars, remote is 3, and inital QA was a 3 for the dead remote-overall 4 stars

To start my tv has been professionaly calibrated. I have a sharp aquos led and could only see minimum improvement and had to look hard for that. This may work for others but it didn't justify what I spent. It was very easy to set up. Biggest complaint was it didn't support the arc feature so I sent it back.

I have a VPL-AW15 on it's last lamp and will replace the VPL with a new projector. The VPL is 720p/24 and was thinking of upgrading to 1080p. The Darbee unit has removed such thoughts from my head. I will upgrade to a brighter 720p/24. Installing the Darbee between the receiver and projector cable is like removing Vasoline from the projector lens. I am toying with buying a second Cobalt for my office. I do not have any use for the extra features of the Darblet (DVP-5000) which are:- Maximum resolution limited to 2560x1600 – no 4k.- Deep Color – where the number of bits/color is 10, 12, or 14 as opposed to 8.- ARC – Audio Return Signal which requires a TV as an HDMI source and sink.- Fast Ethernet (in the HDMI cable)- 3D (120 frames/sec etc.).

Like most reviews here I found this to be a good upgrade for my Pioneer plasma. I am a videophile and audiophile so I am always looking for an upgrade.This is easy to set up, pretty much plug and play. I have mine set at 75%. Seems to make things sharper looking. The better the input the better the difference. I use it with my verizon fios and it is ok some channels better than others. It really shines on bluray and hd discs. That is where the difference is most obvious. My wife who is not a videophile at all noticed the difference as well. You will like it!

If you have a large projector and screen, this device will take a circa 2009 1080p projector and clearly freshen it up so you can avoid the impulse to spend yet another $2500 to satisfy your gottahavit gland. Set the % to between 40 and 55...see other reviews to see what this means...I'm to lazy to say it again. Once you've done this, you'll be able to save your money until Oculus Rift and Avegant Glyph arrive and integrate with your neocortex...

Very surprised at how effective this product is on most every sources thrown at it. It's subtle, but you'll wonder how you never noticed your picture wasn't that good to begin with! Great value and highly recommended.
