Lovely book
Authentically told with lots of little ‘Caribbeanisms’ for lack of a better word lol: the language style reminds me of my st lucian grandmother. Captivating illustrations

Lovely book and great way to showcase traditional Caribbean culture
Bought 3 copies for my 3 nieces. They are very young (1-2 years) so no direct feedback from them but I think that it is a really lovely book and has a few French words in there too which is nice and a glossary at the back explaining the French/Patois words. My sister noted that children in this day and age perhaps won't be impressed with Cinderella's dress for the ball but I suppose that can open up a conversation with your child about traditional Caribbean dress.

Used in class - kids loved it.
My year 4 class were studying stories from another culture so I bought this Caribbean Cinderella to compare and contrast, story mapping etc It has beautiful and colourful pictures and is a lovely twist on the original (washer woman is the fairy godmother). I would recommend as a great story and resource.

Would recommend!
A fantastic book. Great for my 3 year old to follow and a great infusion of culture and fairytale. Wonderful for exploring different cultures and discussing how stories vary around the world. This book was recommended to me and I too would recommend this.

Highly recommended
A great book as an alternative to the classic, I used it as part of talk for writing in literacy (KS1) as a good example of a varying version of the story, the children loved it and could make good comparisons to the more well known story.Pictures are lovely and quite bold on the page.

Cendrillon
I bought this book for international week and read it to the children in school. They loved this version of the classic cinderella story and wanted me to read it again. It has some words in patois but there is a glossary. The story is told through the eyes of the fairy godmother.

Fantastic story from another culture.
This book was bought to use as part of a Stories From Other Cultures project in year 5. It is a fantastic book for this as it is a Caribbean version of Cinderella with local detail and told in the oral story telling style.

Cinderella
I used in class for children to identify the similiarities and differences between stories from other cultures. Lovely pictures and very easy to use as teaching resource.

Great story reflecting the the language of the culture.
The book is great however the age and reading level is not appropriate for my granddaughter who is a toddler at this time. I'll reorder it at another time. Thank you.

My daughter loves this book
My daughter loves this book; she keeps asking me tons of questions about it since she has also watched the most common version of the story. So this is for me an opportunity to also teach her about black history and creole. I can feel that she truly connects with the protagonist.

My kids and I love this story
My kids and I love this story, a Caribbean version of the classic Cinderella tale. The art is gorgeous and lively, as is the storytelling. After checking this out at the library repeatedly, we decided to track down a copy. Hurray for marketplace sellers! Happy to find this and it arrived carefully packaged in great condition. Thank you!
