Hama DVD-ROM Laser Cleaning Disc

My DVD player would play a new disc, then spit it out as 'unrecognisable disc' or 'can't play' if I tried to play it a second time. It would also play discs sometimes, then not others. The symptoms seemed random and ever changing, which would make you think the problem was a faulty player. So I read the feedback on this item here on amazon and decided to try it. I had noticed some of the feedback telling folks to try cleaning the laser a second time with this disc if it didn't fix the problem on the first attempt. After the first cleaning I chose to test my player on a disc I knew it refused to play at all. I had to eject and 'play' the cleaning disc four times before it worked. My DVD player now plays all my DVD collection perfectly with no problems at all. My advice is if at first you don't succeed, then give the cleaning disc a few more tries. One other point to note is that this cleaning disc has 2 brushes on it, one harder and one softer bristled brush. Most of the cheaper cleaning discs only have one brush, so my assumption is that this disc offers twice the cleaning power and is a better product.

Both of the Macbook DVD drives in our household "died", so we thought we'd try this before spending money on replacement or external DVD drives.Good News: It worked a treat on one of the Macbooks (the one that previously kept ejecting DVDs). Works perfectly once again, hooray!Bad news: It did not work on the second Macbook (the one that "ate" DVDs and would not even eject them). Clearly, this DVD drive is dead and will have to be replaced.SUMMARY: If your drive is no longer working, this reasonably priced item is well worth a purchase. While we had a 50:50 result, the scales tip in favour of this product since we've also used it to clean the other two (non-broken) regular DVD players in the house as part of general maintenance.

My lovely Samsung surround sound system (HT-Z220) had got to the stage where the sound was fine but the DVD player varied between the picture only playing with extreme pixellation (unwatchable), or it came up as 'disc error' and stopped. Recently the DVD player stopped playing discs altogether. Unamused. Couldn't afford to get a replacement system, plus it was only the DVD player that was knackered, so trawled through some trouble-shooting pages that indicated the lens should be cleaned as this could cause the problem (Yes, I'm technologically incompetent). Read some reviews on amazon, wanted to swerve getting anything where you had to put liquid on a disc, and this item came up with quite a large number of positive reviews. From reading these, thought this might be better suited to disc drives in laptops, but for under a fiver it couldn't hurt.Popped this disc in with the arrow facing directly into the DVD player, it took 30 seconds to run through after which it states cleaning is finished. I ran it through again to be on the safe side (I get lots of dust and the DVD player had been through 3 years of hard core use). Put in a disc that has never played and now it is perfect. Also tried my DVDs purchased from the USA as these had stopped playing a long while ago and once again perfect play.I can see from other reviews it hasn't always worked, but for my DVD player it sorted it right out. Fiver very well spent.

My 7 year old DVD player/recorder was headed for the rubbish bin after persistently refusing to play some discs, but playing others fine and yet others where it would struggle and lock up. Frustrated with keep changing discs and futile attempts to clean every last kiddie fingerprint off them I decided to give this disc cleaner a try.It came, it worked, I was most happy!The operation and function of the menu is unfussy and basic, but you don't need more. The disc ran for several seconds and was done and I've had no problems playing any DVD since then.If you are in the same position where you don't know if your player in on the way out or not, it's well worth a small investment in this product. It worked for me.

Two things:I can't tell whether it has worked or not - the DVD still sticks at the same point so I will have to try it in another machine. However, since I am getting failures from a couple of discs, my guess is it's either the machine or it hasn't been successfully cleaned.Secondly, as someone who owns all sorts of tools for getting things out of packages, this is by far the worst packed item I have ever purchased.Ever.It took me over ten minute to cut into the plastic packaging-it was just so very tough. And when I did (by using some very sharp things), I managed to cut the instructions up - printed in black on grey in very small writing on the in side of the card packet.Awful packaging.So - in short - I can't tell if it worked and the packaging was almost impenetrable. I would not purchase again.

Zur Reinigung musste ich den DVD - Player am Fernsehen anschließen. Nach Auswahl der Sprache startet der Reinungsvorgang selbständig.Der Programmierer hatten offensichtlich Humor: während der Reinigung wurden durch ein stilisiertes Raumschiff Kugeln oder Planeten abgeschossen.Die DVD hat mich davor bewahrt mir ein neues Gerät zu kaufen.Vielen Dank dafür.

Facile à utiliser. Certains DVD qui avaient des problemes ,passent après utilisation du nettoyeur.

Fa bene il suo lavoro, ne ho avuto la prova poiché il mio dvd player apriva il carrello e subito lo richiudeva non dandomi il tempo di mettere il dvd, ho installato il cd cleaner ed ora è tutto ok. Prodotto ottimo lo cosiglio vivamente.

Suficiente para limpirar los DVD que tengo en mi casa, facil y sencillo de usar ningun problema con el item
