Calibration of this product
After getting very frustrated and not knowing the cause of the poor prints, I re calibrated the hot tip to the bed and wow what a difference this made, as you can see from the pictures linked the first 2 are epic fails, the 3rd if one of a test print i did and the result is way better and at the base slicer settings.I would most defiantly recommend this printer to any one wanting to starting 3d printing, just make sure you calibrate the hot tip, i used the tip leveling paper i got with my other printer, all you have to do is to move the hot tip from a negative number to a positive and then bring it down a bit at a time until the paper just grabs the hot tip. It should be around about +0.2-0.3 IMO.One other note one of the fans is a little noisy but not to bad. AAAAA+++

Good value for money 3D printer
Good value for money 3D printer, except that it cannot hold spools of over 0.5kg, instead you have to spend time (printing) an external spool holder to make it easier to hold large spools.Print quality isn't perfect, but I believe it's good value for the price I've paid for it

Mono over price
Stopped working after one month no product support Monoprice said they have ran out so no replacement was possible did give refund but was really hard work I would not go to Monoprice only due to the issues of contacting them and the slow response not worth the savings

Straightforward useful printer
This is a great option for anyone who just wants to use it - if you want to customise it then look elsewhere. I was printing usable things within a couple of hours of unpacking it.It would probably have been a lot quicker if I'd had something to run flashprint on but Polar Cloud works easily and Cura works fine with a little setting up research (you need the right start and end gcode segments, use a .g extension and get the temperatures set right - cura sets the bed too hot and the nozzle too cold by default). It is important - make that essential (it won't be right out of the box) - to calibrate the Z axis which means setting the lowest the nozzle will go. If that isn't right the first layer will be a mess - take the time download a calibration pattern - set it as best you can with a bit of paper (watch out for the spring in the base deceiving you) make a test print and then adjust until it comes out right. If you hear clicking from near the spool then you have it too low, if it doesn't stick you have it too high. The main limitation of this printer is that it doesn't support using flexible filaments such as TPU - it *can* be made to work with the right settings but it's not the ideal design for flexible filaments and may well jam. If you want to eventually print with flexible filaments then look for a printer with a direct drive extruder - don't start with them though they are fiddly.Oh yes - it is all but identical to the Flashforge Adventurer III so go for whichever one has the best deal at the time - or something else if you want to print TPU.
