The Dot

Used this on school transition day with my soon to be year 1s. We read the story they printed dots using different sized bottle tops. It has made a lovely display for the start of the year.

Brilliant book used to inspire children

I was very disappointed with this order. Two copies of the book were ordered and both were in equally poor condition. They seem to be covered in soap, therefore the pages have begun to peal and some are stuck together. The packaging was undamaged both inside and out, showing that the books have been knowingly placed into the envelope already damaged!!

This is a great book for all ages. I used this for tranisiton day at school.

The actual story in the book is lovely, just what I was hoping. However, the book has unfortunately been spoiled by the delivery driver who has forced the parcel through our letterbox, resulting in the book being folded and squashed, making it hard to open and flick through the pages. A shame as I feel it has made it much harder to flick through and share the story.

I had been looking for a picture book to help boost my daughter's confidence. She is very capable but often doubts herself.She is 7 but I think it would also appeal to younger readers, especially those just starting school. On receiving this book she read it twice. It is such a delight to read and visually stunning. It strikes a perfect balance between text and images.If your child has ever said "but I can't do it", this is the book for them.Can't thank Amazon reviwers here enough for directing me to this beautiful book.I hadn't heard of this one but very pleased to have discovered it.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Update: My daughter is now 8 and brimming with new found confidence, it has even been noted on her school report.Was this book responsible? Well maybe not entirely, but I'm sure it has a special place in her heart. A book to treasure.

Bought to read to my year 3 class. They all enjoyed the story, started lots of positive discussion. Also produced some great art work for a display.
