Love this
My grass had over grown due to being in the hospital having a kid , I bought this and it came with heavy duty line , strimmer my grass for 7 hours without a problem , no overheating or cutting out was so easy to use and the cable is really long so no problems there , this strimmer is really worth the money when it comes to performance and portability

Works well
Made short work of some very long tufted grass and stalky weeds on a very large piece of ground. The cord is much longer than some reviews suggest and is about 5m. I bought the 900w one, it is very powerful and easily competes with a petrol one. The automatic line feed worked very well and I didn't have to stop once even when hitting large stones on very rough ground. Very easy to adjust the handle to the length I wanted and easy to turn the shaft so that it did lawn edges as well. Only four stars because it's quite heavy but apart from that I love it.

Very tough - easily handles brambles and bracken, light to use.
There's not a bad word to be said about this amazing strimmer. I had my previous one (same model) since creating my garden from scratch almost 5 years ago. Think of rough scottish hillside, tough grasses, brambles and bracken. It's very light to use, easily handles any grasses you put its way and with the heavy duty short cords cuts brambles and bracken. There's also finer cord on reels with a head to fit this but have only used this a bit but it would be plenty for an average civilised garden!

Fantastically powerful strimmer - but beware!
I bought this strimmer to replace a very basic, DIY store own-label, strimmer I had owned for a couple of years. It was OK, took a long time to do the job, but halfway through this year’s first-cut Spring grass strimming, before I was going to put the mower on the lawn, the strimmer literally burst into flames. It just couldn’t take it.So, I thought, OK, I clearly need something with a bit more horsepower, and I bought this one.Within a few seconds, I realised I was holding onto a very different device. This fellow not only strimmed grass and weeds, it hated them with a passion and wanted to annihilate them. I started swinging it like my old strimmer, which I now realise used to perform like an old lady with a pair of nail-scissors.This strimmer is the Chuck Norris of strimmers. If you angle it a few degrees too much, you end up with a large patch of bare earth that no longer contains a single molecule of grass DNA. And Chuck is happy with that result. If you strim close to a mature tree (which my old strimmer did, leaving no visible marks), Chuck wants to cut the entire tree down. It even left deep welts in concrete paving! So, beware! If you have a well-manicured, small garden and just want to trim a few straggly edges, Chuck is not for you. It is like sending in a fully-armed soldier to resolve a disagreement in the school playground. However, if you have a large area to clear, with tall grass and weeds, and you don’t mind a few chunks of bare earth when your aim dips from 20-degrees to 22-degrees, or seeing some sturdy saplings that suddenly look the worse for wear, then Chuck is the very fellow for you.You have been warned.

Superb strimmer
Had to replace my cordless Strummer with something more robust but didn't want a petrol version. This is a fairly good mix of all the qualities I look for in a Strummer.I was pleasantly surprised by its power ...managed to get through tough briars and ferns which I didn't think it would. It did take a lot of line to do that and with hindsight I should have used thd stronger line that came with it.Only issue is I'm 6 foot and the handle even when fully extended is not quite long enough but that's a minor inconvenience and really no trouble when strumming slopes ...which I generally am.I've only used it for a couple of months but its done the job well and I'm impressed so far.

Awful line feed mechanism
Powerful strimmer. Could do with being a bit longer for me as I’m 6’3’’ but that’s not the end of the world. The worst part is the line feed, it just throws out huge amounts of line willy nilly. Complete bobbins really. Would have been better with a bump feed or a button. Shame, otherwise good value for money.

A great tool
This is a powerfull strimmer, I would say as good as a petrol strimmer. It cut through long grass with ease and as others have said, if not careful it will rip into the soil, the single lines are very easy to fit and also very durable. I would have given this five stars if it had a detachable power lead, the symbol on the casing and some of the published photos give the impressing that the power lead plugs in. For me all garden power tools should have detachable leads so that they can be stored properly as in use they get kinked and twisted and need to be unpluged to get the kinks out and hang them up, I also feel the little edging wheel is a gimic and just cause grass clippings to get stuck in it, I will probably take it off.All things considered this is a good tool and works well albeit with a couple of niggles, i think this thing is poweful enough for any garden unless of course you want to use it comercially. Black & Decker take off the silly little wheel and fit a plug and socket for the power cable and you will have a dam good tool.
