Plastics not metals.
This is 11/10 for plastics, but using these for Gypsum or other metals you’ll find the teeth missing since it’s a thinner alloy than normal combi starett bits. The pop out mechanism works wonders, it’s quick and you never have to pick out old cut outs.Like the title says: 11/10 for plastics 7/10 for metals.

Great Holesaw
Great little holesaw, good for getting into small spaces and the shoulder saves catching anything by mistake.

Good for wood. Too soft for anything else
Good clean cut, so top marks there. However, be mindful of the material you're cutting.Even soft metals like aluminium, or plastic seem to blunt the blades quickly.Still cuts, but it takes longer now.

Long lasting if looked after
Whilst I do think that Starrett cutters aren't what they used to be, I've had a couple of these to drill steel enclosures as I manufacture control panels. If I use a lubricant or cutting fluid the cutter will do about 5 or 6 control panels, with about 15 holes in each. I find you also have to keep the spring around the pilot drill clean and well lubricated for it to eject the cut-out. Even then you have to prise it out most of the time. So it's not perfect but it's as good as any out there, and better than most
