Big 6
My favorite retro game controller, use it for everything up to ps1 and I love it. Dpad is the best one retrobit has released, buttons feel great, and the shoulder buttons are responsive and easy to press; works great wired or wireless on windows.

Great Controller!
Pros: * The name is nice. * the size is good. * the B buttonand the Y button has the dots on them. * Original controller design with modern upgrades * the build quality is awesome! * the buttons feel nice tight and snappy compared to their older controllers. Cons: * None but... * This may be a con to some the buttons are raised which bothers me none. It may or may not be a deal breaker for you. I also did perfer the blue plastic controller holder/case, but the newer cardboard is alright. The grapic on it is nice though. Conclusion: All and all I love the controller and I hope to see continued support and new Retrobit controllers in the future! P.S. don't forget to update the controller to the newest firmware.

Nice gamepad, good customer service...
EDIT: Retro-Bit sent me a replacement D-pad, which was fairly easy to replace with a small screwdriver set, free of charge. The one 'wing' of the inner component had snapped off. I unscrewed the controller halves, then gently pried the inner and outer D-pad pieces apart with a small flat-head screwdriver (for anyone that runs into the same issue). There's no snap/clip/screw holding them together. Controller stopped working after a month of light use. The D-Pad no longer registers on my RetroPie setup, nor via the Windows Game Controllers test application. I emailed the company about troubleshooting/replacement, just waiting on resolve. Otherwise, the controller had a good build quality and felt true to the original controller. I would rather have the Start button in the center or higher on the controller, but it's not that big of a deal. The Start button is right over the XYZ, so you have to be careful not to accidentally mash the 'game reset' key combo (RetroPie/PicoDrive).

Almost perfect but has quirks
I love the feel of this controller. It is so close to being perfect but has a few operational quirks that unfortunately bring the score down from a 5 to a 4. Main complaints are: *WiFi dropouts at less than 10 feet if fingers are rested on top of controller like natural *Short battery life @ 500mAh *Trouble dealing with Steam Deck or PC input mapping properly even with both built in PC modes (never have proper button assignment whether in 3 or 6 button mode) Pros: *Feels exactly like what I dreamed a 6 button should have been originally *I played games for hours I never played in years due to having more authentic and good controller for these style games *Looks and feels great in your hands *Works great with original Genesis (model 2) hardware

The Best Retro-Gaming Experience
Let me start by saying you can't go wrong with Retro-bit products. We're a family of gamers, with multiple generations of consoles from Nintendo, Sega (obviously), Microsoft and Sony. I first purchased a pair of Retro-bit wireless controllers for my Sega Saturn and they absolutely rocked! The ones I'm reviewing now, also didn't disappoint. Here are the details: Packaging: The Sega Genesis controller didn't come in the same quality of case as the Sega Saturn controllers that Retro-bit offers. The packaging is sufficient, it will keep your controller, adapters safe and together. Contents: The controller cones with both a USB adapter and the 9-hole Genesis adapter. This allows you to play on PC whether you use an emulator or have one of the many Sega Classic game pack CD-ROMs for PC, or if you're using any of the three generations of Sega Genesis consoles. The controller is the 6-button style which let's you play all of your favorite fighting games of that era. These controllers do not work on the AT Games Legends Flashback Sega Genesis clone. I don't have a Sega Genesis Mini, so I can't say if they will or will not work on that product. Ease of Use: The controllers are ready to use the day you open them. It's probably a good idea to give them a full charge before use, JIC. They pair quickly and easily using the pairing button on the adapters. Pros: Great value for the money. These controllers are larger than the original Genesis and AT Games Genesiz models, which is good, because most of our hands have grown since the 90's. A Home and Select button have been added to this controller, as well as left and right shoulder buttons. I haven't tried the buttons yet, so I can't say what functionality they offer. Cons: Wish it had the same case as the Retro-bit Saturn controller, but no other cons. Overall: If you're into retor-gaming on the Sega Genesis, definitely pick up a pair of these.

Unusable on PC
Problem 1- I'm really not sure how you design a controller with no off button. It will literally kill its entire battery immediately after it's first pairing, as you cannot power it off. Problem 2- the dongle for PC shows as a permanently connected controller, even when unpaired. It will break any game you try to play with another controller, because it thinks you have 2 controllers connected. That means every single time you turn your computer on or off you have to remove the dongle from the connected devices. If you want to use the controller after you've done that via software, you have to physically get up and unplug and replug the dongle in. Completely flawed product on PC.

Tried everything to get this to connect. Once I do get it to connect , only B button works. No other buttons respond. I tried pressing that reset pin hole button on the back of the controller like people's suggested but it does nothing to make the controller work on the Sega mini console. Will be returning

The build quality is great, it is amazing to be able to play comfortably from your couch without having to worry about cables anymore. However, there are a couple of minor faults that prevent me from giving the full 5 stars: - It is a bit difficult to switch between the Megadrive and USB receivers. Every time I need to do it, I need to push the hidden reset button in the back with a pin. It would be nice to have a dedicated sync button. - Being born and raised in the EU, I would like to have a version with "Megadrive" branding instead of "Genesis".
