Great quality, great price.
The quality is better than good, much to my surprise. The dovetails are accurately cut, everything aligned perfectly upon assembly.Speaking of assembly, this kit obviously requires a bit of it, so don't think it's gonna l going to be plug and play. You'll need wood glue, a drill/driver and a hammer (small ball peen works best for the small brad nails). All the wood is thoroughly coated in beeswax. This hive is manufactured well. Three grain on the wood gives a very nice appearance. There is no chemical smell typically associated with products from this part of the earth. In fact, quite the contrary, the smell from the wood and the wax is most prevalent. The wood for the body of the hive is 3/4" thick board, so it's quite substantial. I would recommend using some higher quality screws for assembly of the hive, as the provided screws are a bit short for my liking.Let's see how it does with some bees in it.

Awesome Bee Hive
Awesome product. Was easy to assemble the boxes and the frames. It’s sturdy and the boxes are well waxed should repel rain and water as it should. I ended up adding beeswax to the frames. The cedar wood is nice and solid. I added the MayBee stand as well to keep it stable in the wind and off the ground. I’ll be purchasing another.

Impressive quality and value
Very well manufactured and relatively simple to assemble. The holes were pre- drilled on dovetail joints for a secure screwed finish. I really like the smell and feel of the wax coating. That should hold up on our rain. The frames were coated in wax. Excellent! Assembling the frames was the most time consuming part of the project, but after assembling a few of them you develop a rhythm and by the end of them you're a frame assembly machine. I can't wait to introduce the ladies to their new home tomorrow!

Great product and value
Excellent product, great value - business a few minor shortcomings.Packaging: This ships in a standard weight cardboard box without any interior padding or protection. I had no damage, but mine only had about a 4 hour drive with FEDEX. If they have to go thru more hibs or are handled more, the potential for damage is there. In the Box: despite the lack of packing materials, it is well and tightly packed. Everything needed (sans tools) was there, and there's extra nails and screws.Assembly: First, tools. Get a drill/impact with a #2 bit, a rubber mallet or plastic tap hammer, a 1/8th" drill bit, a bottle of titebond wood glue and a crown stapler or finish nailer. Seriously, you really don't want to tack in 160 finish nails by hand. The box pieces, bottom board, and lid are heavily waxed, to the point that some pressure is needed to press the dovetail together. Dovetail are perfect and precise- and tight. Screw holes are well aligned abd countersunk. DON'T over tighten, particularly if you're using an impact driver. While the wiod is relatively knot free, one Dovetail had a thick knot, and needed a screw to go into it- hence tjev1/8th drill bit for a pilot hole. If you pay attention, and adjust accordingly, you can avoid splits and chips. The frames also haf tight Dovetails. I glued them, assembled- with the foundation in place before the top bar, and then shot a couple 18ga brads into each corner. Doing 80 of them (I got 2 hives) was rather monotonous, and I had no interest in hand tacking over 300 finish nails. A crown stapler would be a better option. The Flaws: packaging, already talked about that. The included screws are brass indoor screws, I got a box of stainless. The foundations are lightly waxed, and lack the corner breakoutsAll in all, a very good product at a great price point, and only a few minor shortcomings

Assembly was phenomenal
I purchased this as I prepare for next years honey bee acquisition! I am absolutely in love with this hive!!I had previously had spinal surgery. So I have about a 20 lb lift. But this was so amazing and simple. I did need a screw driver , hammer, wood glue and a carpenters square. These are so nicely waxed, the parts were tight fitting at dove tails. It went together easily. I did use wood glue on the internal frames. Nailed them in each corner.I’d highly recommend this hive to anyone who is new to bees like myself. The value of the hive itself is absolutely wonderful in this economy. This hive is all inclusive. Even the door adjuster.. I’m in love with it. Beautiful solid built for durability.Pre drilled for easy assembly. I will be purchasing a second hive. Do not be intimidated by the build. It was so easy. I called this my jinga box .. so many pieces I was intimidated at first. I built the bee boxes first. Then took my time adding the assembled frames. It took me just a little over 4 hours. But if you’re healthy and strong with a good stand and lift ability. It would probably be a lot less.I highly recommend this product. I just can’t say enough good about it.

Well made, good quality!
Very happy with this product. Solid wood everywhere, no OSB. Screw holes predrilled on boxes, frames fit together well. Comes with screws however we opted to buy stainless screws as it appears these hives are going to last a long time. Frames need assembling, not a big deal but a bit tedious as there are 40 of them, we have a 2" brad nail gun which makes this a LOT easier, went stainless on the nails also. The boxes are fully waxed, no skimping there. This seems much preferable to painting raw wood, no paint needed! Bottom and top pre assembled. I think this hive is a great value for the money!

Great deal; well built!
I got the large hive set with 2 deep boxes and 2 honey suppers. Great hive! Well built and easy to assemble. The pieces fit together tightly and are double dipped in wax. The entire hive was tightly packed in a single box; I can’t believe the Fed-ex guy could lift it nonetheless carry it all the way to my porch!

Good quality kit.
This is a kit for a full bee hive. It is well done. The parts are cut accurately and fit well. I got this all together including all 40 frames in a couple hours. It is not difficult with basic tools. Power tools make it alot quicker of course. Will see how well the wax finish holds up and how well the bees take to it when it warms up. Getting another nuc in a few weeks. So far I recommend this product.
