I got what I paid for
As another reviewer has pointed out, what you get is not what was in the photo but it only really amounts to the lack of the carry handle and there are no plastic 'end tidies' on the handle tubes. Neither is a problem but it would be nice to know you're looking at an accurate example of what you're buying - in some cases it might have been crucial to your decision! I bought this as the scissor jack on my little Punto gave up and I needed to do some work on it. My fault that, used it for everything and it's not designed for that. Anyway, I'm not reviewing Punto jacks. I chose this one as it was short enough to slide under my car. This obviously limits the jacking range, but if you can't get it under, you can't use it full stop. I knew when I ordered it that it had a small flat top so I knew I would need to make something to spread the load or try to use it on some sturdier part of the car than the traditional jacking points. As it turned out I used the rear suspension arm and got it up on axle stands and was away. For the future I may make some sort of slotted adapter so I can use it in the same place on the body that the scissor jack used. The lack of range turns out not to be an issue as the top screws up to allow you to lose none of that range and it is then adequate to get the wheel off the ground. Another reason for choosing this over a trolley jack was that I would keep it in the car for emergency use (I killed the jack that came with the car remember). This is small and easily stowed, it also comes complete with a plastic case to keep it tidy in the boot. A trolley jack would have more range on the plus side but would be a chore to store in and lift out of the boot, would take up lots of room, might not get into some places and/or get in the way and was more expensive. This bottle jack seems well made and I can't imagine it failing, it's agricultural in the best sense of the word.

A good basic bottle jack - with some issues.......
The bottle jack is reasonably robust and works okay. That said, I was unhappy with the large amount of lateral slop in the pumping cylinder mechanism linkages and also felt that the interface between the relief valve and the lever rod was too loose - resulting in the rod sitting eccentrically on the relief valve and only catch one nib. As a result I tightened up the pumping cyliner linkages by popping a couple of washers into the hinged connections and I centralised the lever / rod to the relief valve by inserting a (black) bush into the end of the rod. See attached photos. I'm not sure how the bottle jack's sealing surface will resist corrosion but I plan to extend the cylinders and apply a thin film of light oil to the exposed critical surfaces every 6 months or so. In summary I think that its a reasonable bottle jack - but I feel that they've tried to save a couple of pence in its manufacture at the cost of reducing the value of the product by several pounds. I feel that my simple mods have significantly improved the bottle jack -and only cost a few pence.

Solid worker
Have not tried it up to 10t yet but works a treat. Very good for cramped space, there is a screw top to it so you don’t have to shimmy it up typically. Awesome for aligning caravans as pushes them straight up as opposed to moving everywhere with car jack. However because it’s smaller it puts that entire pressure onto a small area underneath it, so make sure you are on solid footing and you can have up to 10t of weight on an area less than half ft2. Make sure you store upright! Also I would add for lowered cars or have less clearance this wouldn’t be suitable. Lastly, the handle isn’t that long so if you have something that is a stretch away, you will need a length of metal pipe. Apart from that the bottle jack is quality, the things above are not bad points just to be aware of of. I have this and I would buy again

Not reliable in any way
Needed to use this jack in an emergency and it doesn't work. Got home eventually and had a good look at it. As you pump it it goes up and down. The handle should not rise if you push down on the jack plate but it does. Tried to bleed the air using various methods to no avail. Topped up the oil and bled the air again, nothing. Tried the upside down method and BLACK oil came out. That tells me theres something seriously wrong inside this piece of junk. I never registered the guarantee so I think I'll dismantle it out of curiosity to see what's wrong.

Overall good
The jack itself is great, the handle when using the 2 poles to extend leverage is too loose and hard to keep from falling apart.
