Musiclily Drum Brushes Retractable Wire Percussion Brushes with Nylon Plastic Handle for Jazz Folk Music

Nice sound but poorly made.
Never used brushed before, but felt the need for some on a recording I was doing for my daughter's Christmas song. As brushes, they sound really good, they're easy to use, and the nylon bristles (for want of a better word) slide nicely in and out of the handles to the desired length. So why only 3 stars? Because they fell apart, that's why. Within about 5 minutes of playing some of the nylon bristles were lying on the floor under my feet, and as soon as a couple fell out, the rest were eager to follow. I wrapped some electrical tape around the brushes at the handle and kept going, as I had a limited amount of time to get the tracking done. They worked fine for the rest of the day after that, and probably will again, but the they're clearly not very robust. I'll probably try and fix them so I can use them again if the mood takes me, but I doubt I'd buy these again.

Great sticks
Superb - just a note, I am not a musician or drummer and therefore I can only say what I thought in relation to my own needs. I have a Cajun drum and use these to practice playing along with tunes. These drum sticks mean that I can practice quietly or play along with other people without drowning them out (perfect for background rhythm). The retractable part means that I can have long or short 'snares' to produce totally different sounds. The rubberised handles are really comfortable to hold. All in all, for me, they are just what I needed.

Technophobe
This item was received quickly after order. Having used wire brushes for years I was fed up with wires bending and catching when trying to retract. I have used these nylon brushes on several gigs and they produce a good brush sound, in my opinion. They are less flexible than wire brushes but I find this is advantageous when using them for cymbal work. The brushes also retract with no problems unlike previous wire brushes. Recommend.

not a clean sweep
looked OK when opened but found that brush ends were cut poorly and had lumps on the ends that had to be sandpapered off. A long fiddly job. on using them I require the brushes to be different lengths to change the sound. These brushes do not stay in one position for long and slide out to full length so I can only use them on a limited number of tunes. all in all not up to scratch.
