Better than Book 1
Better than Book 1, in that the pace was faster and although there was a lot of descriptive text, it did not seem to get in the way quite as much as in Book 1 - or perhaps I just got more accustomed to it. Written very much in the style of an "Indiana Jones" storyline with some fantastical and somewhat unrealistic leaps of plausibility, chance, conjecture and luck; but just go with the flow and do not make a critical analysis and then the book's enjoyable enough. Will have to read Book 3 to see how it all ends.

Continues the series
Decent thriller, lots of action and the characters developing extremely well. Like the historical perspective on both novels in the series, starting e next now.

Implausible and unbelievably tongue in cheek readable
I am an avid reader. This tale, second of a trilogy continues more or less immediately where book one stopped. It is readable. The baddies are physcho murderer slime and the goodies so incredibly lucky, skilled and win the day.The whole tale is incredibly far fetched as to defy all belief but somehow the author keeps the reader interested.Far fetched, implausibly impossible and the goodies foil the baddies once more.

Needs some serious editing.
You know when you watch a tv programme and they spend the first couple of minutes telling you what happened in previous programmes, and after each ad break they tell you what you watched before the ad break? Well this and the other two books in the series are like that. The main characters explain things to each other again and again - I'd estimate 20% is repetition. The main characters also come to incredible conclusions from the scantiest of clues - but if they're so clever, why do they keep making dumb mistakes? The villains are very stereotypical bad guys - anyone would spot them a mile off, and their dialogue is also very repetitive. And if they're such great assassins, why do they keep on missing the targets? It's all very Scooby Doo - 'darn those kids'. Everything is a foregone conclusion - I worked it out in the first couple of chapters of the first book and I only kept on reading to see how ludicrous the plot could get - answer, very.Easy enough reading, not in any way challenging and fine for a holiday read, but prepare to be irritated by most of the characters.

Intense plot excitement with Templar heritage in modern Europe.
Super tale telling by James Becker yet again, I couldn't stop page turning, The plot and sub plot so carefully enmeshed that one couldn't tell what the outcome would be and how the heroine and hero could possibly escape a fatal end. I thoroughly recommend the book to those with a strong cardiac system. Great fun as well..

Great book
Excellent read just like the first one can't wait to start reading the third book in series it just baffles me how the kn nights temple's were so precise in their dealings with Bobby traps and the way they thought about them. Great read well done the author look forward to reading more of hex books.

For those wanting a Dan Brown type story
Good suspense, and storyline fast flowing. For those who like the mystery/historical clue path stories like those written by Dan Brown, these should definitely be on your reading list.

Good book
Purchased The Lost Treasures of the Templars three years ago to read in the airport while traveling. Took me three years to find out there was more. Purchased The Templar Archive and read it in a month and now on to the next in the series with Robin and Mallory. If I did not force myself to put the book down it would be read in a week and I'd be up all night reading it.

the premise was promising but a dull read
I did not know that this book would be so descriptive, I mean even the surrounding scenario takes up 4 pages of write up.... A bit of a drag really, the premise was promising but a dull read really

Totally enthralling read
This is the second novel in the 'Hounds of God' Trilogy. The pace set in the first novel "The Lost Treasure of the Templars' is continued on in this novel as our two protagonists race across Europe to outwit and outdistance their chasers - the Dominicians and another mystery group. The author has done so much research, not only into the Templars, but also into the geography of the countries through which we are taken. A great enthralling read, written by a great storyteller. The third novel awaits, and I hope there is a proper ending .. .. no cliff-hangers please.
