Best for 2 players
We’ve already got the Europe ticket to ride which we really enjoy but when there are just two of you this version is so much better. Makes it much harder and more brain work needed to win.

One of the best board games on the market
Having purchased Ticket to Ride Europe and really enjoyed it, I have now purchased the Nordic version which is designed for 2-3 players - so good to play when all the children are away. At first when you purchase either game, you may find the rules a bit daunting with all the bits - however, like most games, once you play it the first time and work it out - you really get hooked! The board, pieces and cards are durable, pleasant to look at and well made. The game is addictive and you can be quite competitive trying to get to your destinations and on the way accidentally (or not) block other players routes! The variations between both the European and Nordic are slight so it is easy to adapt to which ever game you are playing. I would recommend the Ticket To Ride games to any family who enjoy board games. However please note that it is only the American,European or Nordic versions that are complete games - the other countries are extension packs and you need one of the above to be able to play them.I purchased the first one because of the good reviews and it is one of the most enjoyable all round games that I have played for years. Also the games seem to take about 1hr to play so you can just enjoy one fairly shortish game or go on to play again.

Good game if you like T2R
A good variant on T2R for 2-3 players. A stand alone game, not an extension so you don't need one of the base games to play it. DoW don't seem to make this game at the moment so high prices reflect scarcity value. Hopefully DoW will release new samples soon.

Great game, charming design. Well worth every penny!
Ticket to Ride is such a great set of games! The gameplay itself is fairly easy to pick up and after a few games, you really get your teeth into the different possible strategies. The game itself is of excellent quality and the Nordic version is particularly charming, with its own coloured trains and snowy cards. Love having a few different versions of the game as each version has the same basic game play but with slight differences and obviously alternative maps. This means the gameplay never gets stale for us.

Settlers of Catan fan? Buy this!
As a fan of Settlers of Catan, I searched for a long time to find something for my friends as an early Christmas present. If you're in the same boat - look no further. I had initial reservations about Ticket to Ride as it appeared a little simplistic. However, upon playing, it is much more complicated. It kept us engaged for many hours and I was particularly surprised by how refreshing it is to play a game where the turns are fast, limited only by the time it takes you to think about your approach moving forward. The Nordic Countries version is great and has the perfect Christmas feel - the cards have snow covered carriages and the board itself is a snowy wonderland. These are minor touches, definitely, but ones which show the thought put into making up this version.Highly recommended!

My favourite Ticket to Ride
I am a fan of eurogames, and have played a fairly good selection. I was familiar with Ticket to Ride before I bought this, as a present for my girlfriend, mainly for us to play together. It has now come to be my favourite of the ticket to ride games, and a staple of my boardgaming. Although it only caters for 2 or 3 players, it is very good with only 2 so I would strongly recommend it to anyone who is interested in a 2 player game. Something which is not mentioned but I think is a big plus is that you can also use this game to play any of the map expansions (obviously only 2 or 3 players), so that gives it much more potential as the start of a ticket to ride collection than the description seems to give it credit for.

Only for 2-3 players
This game is only for 2-3 players. Should have read the description more carefully. Bought this game - and not the original version Ticket to Ride Europe 2-5 players - as it also featured Tallinn in Estonia; a fun fact for my Estonian daughter-in-law. It was a bit disappointing, as my kids where brought up with board games and now continue this tradition with their own friends, but cannot use this game for playing with a group of friends.Game itself is great and lots of fun. Considering how "old" it is, it is still one of the top games. Definitely worth buying. Just make sure you got the right edition.

Initial disappointment with the board
Slow delivery. Initial disappointment with the board. I appreciate that it is almost a small game for travellers, and is complete game in it's own right, but I expected the map layout to be far more detailed. The train cards have a layer of snow on them, but the actual trains are the standard. The map didn't seem particularly Christmasy to me. Very expensive for a small, single sided, 2-3 player board game. The Rails & Sails game for 2-5 players is much better value. It has a double sided large playing board, (twice the size), with 2 different, beautiful maps and themes. Rails & Sails is also more complex than our Ticket to Ride Europe game, yet only a few pounds more than the Nordic game. Nordic Countries was bought as a Christmas present. Maybe I'll be more enthusiastic when we've played it a few times.
