Nowhere to Hide uses just about every visual trick imaginable: slow motion, rapid-fire editing, different film textures (from gritty black and white to luminous color), freeze-frames, as well as techniques that have only become possible with computers and that are impossible to describe. But the movie has more than visual razzle-dazzle: scenes go off in bizarre directions, the tone shifts radically from hyperviolence to total sentimentality (in one scene, the loose-cannon detective is brutally beating a handcuffed prisoner; moments later, he's as happy as a little boy when his sister gives him a pair of gloves), the characters are outrageously melodramatic. The soundtrack shares this amazing cinematic schizophrenia, featuring light pop songs, shrieking heavy metal, moody Spanish guitar, and soaring classical. The overall effect is dizzying, disorienting, but at the same time giddy and exciting. The closest American equivalent is Charlie's Angels; these are movies that have moved beyond story logic and character development into sheer sensory enjoyment; movies that push action-movie techniques to the point of becoming almost avant-garde, some insane hybrid of John Woo and Jean-Luc Godard. had this one stuck in my head for years, kept watching an old VHS of it, glad it is on DVD
A very strange guy flik cop movie. This oddball film is not so much a buddy cop movie more a group of friends cop movie. A bit of manga feel at times. REALLY GOOD soundtrack for the film. Fits it great. Nice rainy scenes. Just such a weird movie though. Very addictive. I cant say it is a good movie yet I like it a lot and cant quit watching it.

Action packed, fun movie (3.75 stars)
This movie has a lot of action and good character development. The villain and the hero are played well and there is plenty of suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, the action, and especially the unique fight scenes. This is an all around pretty darn good flick!

Animal House meets The French Connection
This movie was like Animal House meets The French Connection. Odd narrative but good cinematography.

Yes it doesn't have a heavy plot but if you like action movies then you have to see this.

Enjoyable if flawed
This movie has a simple premise; cop hunts down killer. But the filmmaking is second to none, with amazing textures and colours that left me in awe. If only American and British movies could look and feel this good!! It would be five stars just for this!!OK, there are flaws, such as the volatile nature of good guy Det. Woo; the way he goes about his hunting down of bad guy Sungmin actually makes you have more compassion for the criminal!! You usually want the baddie to get caught, but at times that wasn't the vibe I was getting from the film.Nevertheless, I still enjoyed this 95 minute of Korean cinema.
