Transform date night from mundane to fun :) We are really happy to have a book of curated dates on hand. We needed the inspiration to reconnect after 10+ years together and 2 kids. We love food and so far the recipes are really good - better than going out!

I really like this idea, and my husband and I have had a lot of fun with it so far.That said, the recipes are not quite right. There are ingredients listed in some that don’t get used, some take much longer to prepare (even for an experienced cook) than it says, some are completed out of order and one has you preheat the oven for no reason. I think someone said they proofread but didn’t.Again, the nights are enjoyable after the chaos of some of the recipes.

My husband and I have been married for 15 years. As the years have gone on, we have tried a few different date night boxes, subscriptions, etc. We have come to really like them because they break us out of the mundane routine of dinner and a movie. We loved Happily's Datebox. The Adventure Challenge Couple Date Night Cookbook sounds like a great idea (in theory. We were excited to give it a try, especially after liking some of the others so much, but we were somewhat disappointed. Here's what you need to know if you are considering buying it:*Unlike other date night kits or subscription boxes, this requires you to buy a whole lot more. You have to buy all the food ingredients PLUS all the items necessary for the date. That means the cost of one date can get pretty high.*The dates are varied with some being more adventurous than others. For example, our first surprise date was merely playing a couples version of the newlywed game to see how well we knew each other. As in you entered the QR code and got a list of questions to ask one another. That's it.I see this working well as a shower gift or an anniversary gift, but you may want to include a grocery store gift card too.

I love every book from this series, but this particular one is something I am really excited about. I tried my best to demonstrate how it works in the video portion of my review. Hopefully will find it helpful.Essentially, there is a guide that helps you see how long it takes to make the recipes, the time of day it’s appropriate for, and the cost, etc. From there, it’s a mystery what you’re going to get, but once you pick a challenge to scratch off, you must commit to it! The recipes are easy to follow, and there is even a QR code on each one that takes you to a video demonstrating how it is done. There is also a sticker spot for adding photos, and an area to write either notes about the recipe or diary about your experience. I do wish the writing portion were a little longer and that it was LGBTQ inclusive with the couple photos, but not something I held against the rating by any means.A lot of our recipe books get used once or twice and then they never get pulled out again. I imagine we’ll actually look back at these for ones we liked and the pictures as it’s sort of a scrapbook.
