Friends: Complete Season 6 - New Edition [DVD]

Past the half way point of a ten year run, most series become stale and stagnated, Not Friends, the writers keep coming up with more hilarious ideas and situations. The storylines are fresh and interesting. Of course Season 6 is dated now but it's still a good watch. A lot happens in this series, it begins in Vegas after Ross and Rachael get drunk and married, the fall out is hilarious as Ross tries to avoid getting divorced for the third time. All the episodes are of great quality, aside from 'the one with mac and cheese' which has a lot of clips of previous episodes. 'the one with Ross's teeth' is one of the funniest ever. Bruce Willis makes a special guest appearance and Elizabeth's father, the student Ross is dating. with this series running from 1999-2000 there is also a millennium episode. The addition of Elle McPherson is a bad one, as her acting is quite bad, luckily she is only in a few episodes. The series ends on Monica and Chandlers engagement, which doesn't go smoothly due to the re-appearance of Richard (Tom Selleck),who declares his love for Monica, ultimately she picks Chandler and the two are engaged by the end of the series. A must have box set.

As a Friends fan, in past years I've collected most of the series on DVD, buying the boxed sets from Amazon.com. Those editions are of great quality: 4 single sided discs, elegant slipcase made of paper and plastic including plot summaries of every episodes, and a good quantity of extras. A short preview of every episode, commentary of a few special ones, and other material like interviews, trivia challenges, "Gunther's corner", and so on. Finally, the DVD interface is slick, with music and animation.Now, I recently decided to complete the collection, and I bought the missing seasons from Amazon.co.uk (since I can receive them faster): 6, 7 and 10. I thought "hey, they'll be just the same in region code 2!". Was I in for a disappointment!The collection is comprised of three double-sided discs, which feel quite cheap, since this way they don't even have a regular label. They are contained in three separate plastic shells, with no particular decorations. Furthermore, there are no extra, no commentary, and the interface is pretty basic, without even music.Fortunately, the episodes themselves are fine. There is something different from the US version, but I can't quite put my finger on it (difference in tv standards between nstc and pal?). Anyway, this part is good, and I think they're still the full, unedited versions.Overall, the product is surely functional, but it's too basic. I'll just buy the US edition and give this boxset to a friend.

Absolute rubbish. Side 1 of the first and last discs would not load at all and the last two episodes skipped completely. Unfortunately as I was a day over the 30days permitted for returning the defective item; I was forced into the protracted saga of trying to get a refund. If you haven't experienced this process, do yourself a favour and avoid it at all costs. Either try and test the goods within the 30days or avoid box set DVD's from Amazon. I'll favour the latter in future!

The delivery time was excellent. However, the presented case appeared, but damaged, all the discs have a sticky like substance, coating the side which it is played on. I've tried wiping them with a cloth and tissue paper but it just smears. The discs are unreadable also. Very upset about this purchase. I'm sure they aren't all like that but if I spend 18/19 pound I would like working discs! When I tried playing them in the computer the disc drive made it obvious it wasn't going to happen.

Definitely well worth buying, Friends is a fantastic Sit Com & is still relevant today. A brilliant watch!

I bought this because I had an urge to watch the Thanksgiving ep with the trifle. I was not disappointed, it's just as funny over a decade later :D.
