As a swim instructor, IMHO, this is the best swim device on the market ! It actually frees up the child’s arms and legs so they can learn to swim, float, back float and tread water. The thin pads are evenly distributed in the front and the back which won’t flip the child. You have to work with the child when they first put it on and show them how to sure their arms and their legs for about 30 minutes. But once they get it, they will be able to motor around the pool easily. These work for 35 to 55 pounds. So for 2 1/2 through 5 years old, unless the child is over 55 pounds. They should make these for adults who don’t know how to swim ! I highly recommend this device for pool use for children !

We have been teaching our child to do his back floats sense he was about 1 1/2. We know how to swim but had no real idea of how to teach a baby he just turned three and can fully jump in the pool or fall in and float on his back. Got this floaty on b-day used for 2days and see amazing progress. He doesn’t wear it after only two uses. I give total credit to him but haha this definitely helped lols

Perfect for a toddler that is active and still needs assitance!

Bought these for my two toddlers (2 and 4) and had a great experience using them. They helped encourage our adventurous 2 year old to use his arms and keep his head above water on his own. We noticed a huge improvement in his swimming just after the first weekend using it. We also used one on our 4 year old who has a lot of pool anxiety. He asked for his puddle jumper in the beginning because he is so used to that to keep him above water. The problem with the puddle jumper is that he was just floating and not learning to swim independently. This swimr vest encouraged him to use his arms and legs more naturally to actually keep himself upright. Honestly very surprised with the fact both of my kids didn't mind having them on so they must be pretty comfortable! I will say my kids wear a rash guard shirt so I can see how if you have the elastic sides against bare skin it might be scratchy. Family members who were swimmers all their lives were impressed by these!

Causes a brush rash on my daughters legs from strap, but works good. She learned to swim with it.

This is excellent for a 3 year old learning to swim. It doesn’t hinder their arms, like other buoyancy aids do, and it’s not bulky. I thus allowing them a to front crawl or play normally unhindered. You can also remove some of the foam sheets, front and back, so that they get use to supporting them self but by bit over time, rather than all at once. I understand everyone learns differently but my son loved this, and it did wonders for his confidence in the water. Very good quality!
