It’s a gift for my friend and her birthday isn’t until end October and just hoping she’ll like it…..her husband hates cheese…..😂😂. Box smaller than anticipated but not sure how much bigger I had in mind. I’m sure, going by other reviews, it’s going to be a hit.

This is a good starter kit for anyone looking to dip their toe in the cheese making world. Super easy instructions in realistic quantities designed for homemade cheese. The only reason for 4 & not 5 star relates to the cheese types. The book gives a recipe for Ricotta and Greek salad cheese however, they are more stylised. Once you youtube the recipes you'll soon realise but hay, if your just starting who cares.

I had always wanted to give cheese making a try but thought it was more difficult that what it really is. Yes, there are many types and textures but this kit explains it all very well and is a great guide.

The recipe book and guidance was really cool, great range of cheeses to make and ideas for recipes. Looks like good quality items all neatly packaged. (Thermometer was different to the image on the site and well hidden at the bottom of the box so I nearly thought it had been missed out of the kit but I was wrong. All was present and correct 👍)

Great fun for all, I outdoor have loved a cloth instead of plastic muslin, as you must boil the equipment to kill bacteria, you can smell that ever so slight nasty burnt plastic smell when you do it, and I think it would make such a big difference. I would also prefer smaller quantities in the recipes as it's not practical to make such a huge batch of cheese in a small family kitchen although it's easy enough to do the math to reduce the quantities, you can second guess yourself and make mistakes. I really enjoyed the Labneh recipe as it's so easy, and I never even thought you could do that. Could I also suggest keeping the yogurt whey for Ayran, a great stomach settler! All in all a really fun and quality purchase and I would highly recommend it to anyone who would like a change. Get yourself a lot of milk in as you'll be desperate to try everything all at once!
