The story was original, heart wrenching, emotional and simply remarkable.
With this story Clarissa Wild steps outside of the genre that makes her familiar to me. Although is not the first time she does it, she never fells to impress me.The story was original, heart wrenching, emotional and simply remarkable. The characters were fascinating, and their story was moving. The writing was fantastic, even though some parts were a little rushed.Ruin is a story about healing, acceptance, finding love and much more. For me it really was a very emotional read but I'm glad I had the chance to find it on my device. I wanted to be fair by the time I need it to write my review, so I did a little research about Asperger's Syndrome.I followed Alexander and Maybell on their journey and learned about their tragic history while they were bonding together, and healing each other's hearts. I don't want to spoil it for you, but one thing is for certain, this story touched me.

Predictable but still enjoyable to read
I know that this story is personal, so this makes this review a bit awkward. I'd like to say that this isn't a review of what the author experienced, but the book. There are two things that ruined the book for me:1. Predictable plot twists.2. I feel like the blurb of the book doesn't really match the story. Wait, I'm saying this wrong. It didn't meet my expectations on the story. "She was perfect until me" and "this is the story of how I ruined her" were the lines that caught my interest when I was reading the blurb. But it fell flat on me once I finished the book.Having said that, I still enjoyed reading the book. I know, it's a bit contradicting, but I did. After I read the book and thought more about the story and the review that I will write, that's when I finally realized that it didn't quite meet my expectations. Hence, the 4-star rating.

Highly recommended love story!
Loved reading the engaging and engrossing romance story. When Maybell gets into a car accident, has Aspergers and has a hard time making friends, ends up in the hospital, has to learn to walk all over again, and can't become a dancer, she meets Alex who makes her days and the stay at the hospital brighter. Even though Alex fights bouts of depression, his highlight of his days is spending time with Maybell. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read story of two people finding companionship and love when and how they both least expect it.

Loved this book. It's an eye opener
I couldn't put this book down. I was captured from page one. Clarissa Wild, you are an amazing author and I want to thank you for all your books. Knowing the feeling of being depressed to the point that you want to take that leap and be done, this book goes to show you that you keep moving forward and never give up. Life throws is curve balls and we have to take them as they come. We need to remember just because we need some help doesn't make us weak it makes us stronger. This story really touched my heart. Thank you Clarissa for sharing this and showing that no matter what Never give up. So happy for the HEA in this story

Unconditional love ❤❤
When the author was first teased this book, all I could think about was "who did she base this story on?" My first initial thought was herself and her husband, but I wasn't going to let myself jump to conclusions until I read it. This book is heartbreakingly-amazing. Alexander's character is so wonderful that all you want is for him to be real, and he actually is. Maybell is a character I think everyone can relate to, especially when she thinks she can't do anything normal again. Writing is her passion and I love that element. Not to spoil anything, but at about 95% I had a mini heart attack. Nuff said.

Wow what a story
I truly fell in love with Alex and May. To learn that the story is partial true and fiction just blew me away. We live in a world where the youth of today need to learn that we are all created differently, but we must learn to accept and embrace these differences not destroy another person well being. Wake up parents and teach our children how to embrace life, and live with all the quirky people put on this earth to make life just a little more interesting. Good read thank you for sharing a part of your life and your partners.

I loved reading this story
I loved reading this story. The parts where May was getting bullied were painful and at times very emotional to read but not until I read the very end of the book about the author did it get even more emotional. Clarissa Wild is truly a beautiful, strong person for having gone thru what she has and then writing such a beautiful book.

Great book
Obstacles the things we face everyday. Choices. Do we go left or do we go right. Everything we do has a purpose it is what we. Ale of ourselves or who we are. Ruin is amazing tells you what life really is. HARD and it's up to you how you handle all the bad that comes your way and even the good.

Heartbreakingly Real
Definitely tugs at the heart strings. As it's based on a true story this makes the issues raised even more disturbing. The issues raised of bullying and judgement highlight just how ignorant some parents are that they don't take the time to explain differences thereby allowing their children to isolate and ignore children who are different. This is so sad as more and more children are suffering through ignorance.Well done for having the courage to put pen to paper and tell your story, hopefully if just one person takes the time to speak their child and explain difference, it may just stop that child sitting alone and friendless

Totally different
Totally different to her normal books but well worth the read. I'm no good at writing what I thought about while reading, how the characters inter reacted with each other. All I can say 'Maybell and Alexander were good. You felt for them, and what they had to go through. All because they where different.I would recommend this book.

Sweet romance
The storyline was easy to follow and the characters first class. I felt sorry for both main characters and could totally relate. It was sweet, gentle and honest. What I loved was how much Alex did to take of her despite the guilt. Some of the supporting characters came across as unfeeling and selfish.I was surprised at her parents the most.Beautiful and inspiring.
