Finally received a working product
In the past couple of weeks I ordered (and returned) one 2-tank set and two individual tanks. None worked. I've not had good luck with tanks I guess, so my expectations were not high when I ordered this set. I was delighted when it arrived and the tanks both worked as advertised - right out of the box. This is a good basic set of RC tanks. They drive well and the IR targeting system is fairly accurate. The tanks are slow but the speed is acceptable. My biggest complaint is the battery. You get about 20 - 30 minutes of drive time before having to charge for hours. It would help if two batteries were enclosed. That said - I highly recommend this purchase.

Fun...... but Quirky
I love remote controlled vehicles and these are definitely fun but the operation is a bit quirky. They arrive in a very secured styrofoam packaging and will require 4 AA batteries (2 for each controller). The tank itself is powered by a rechargeable battery but the battery door is a bit frustrating. The battery door is on the bottom of the tank and is held closed with a tiny screw, so every time you need to charge up, it requires removal. The controller also has a screw but that's not as big of an issue. I wish the tank would recharge with a plug on the body but oh well. The battery charges with the included USB chargers. The instructions are a bit hard to understand and the print is VERY small and hard to read. Each tank has 2 switches on the bottom. One for power and one for the smoke function that works with water that is filled from a port on top. The controllers feel very cheap but operate well. The smoke function is a nice touch.Once you turn the tank power on, you turn the transmitter on and you must press the start button within 10 seconds or the tank goes into "demo" mode and starts moving around and making noise. This function cannot be disabled and is very annoying. The tanks maneuver very nicely and have decent speed. The tracks work well. When "fighting" between the two tanks, it seems to register a hit no matter what direction you shoot from. Once one tank is hit 4 times it is disabled and then you have to wait a bit, press start button twice and then you work again. All in all these are fairly well constructed, seem fairly durable so far and are fun. I think the price is a little steep for the overall quality but I give them 4 stars.

Fun
I'm 65 years old and I have a lot of fun with the tanks. My dogs love to bark at them and chase them. This was a great buy I give them an A Plus.
