[Upgraded] VFD Audio Spectrum Analyzer Bluetooth 5.0 Receiver 3.5mm AUX Selector (Silver)

Just like one of the reviewers who shared a video, this thing is great. He is right in saying the MIC alone function is horrible. Since I use my BT from my PC to send audio to my receiver, all I had to do was get a rca adapter to 1.5m stereo out to IN 1 or 2 of the spectrum analyzer. I plugged the rca side into my zone 2 pre out and the other end into the spectrum analyzer. then turn up the volume on zone 2 since most don't utilize zone 2. it works great. be sure when you receive this, it has the remote as it does simplify things when setting up. ****update**** 2-27-2025 the product is now failed and no longer powers on. I've tried to reach the company with no response. save your money and do not purchase this item. there is no product support. ****update*** 3-9-2025 after many days of no response I added the number on their web page to WhatsApp and reached out. Someone after a couple days responded but by this time I managed to get Amazon to refund the item and send the failed one back despite they charging me for a damaged item? Makes no sense. This company just sent out a replacement with out charging me. I appreciate their help and kindness to send a new one. I adjusted my review to 5 stars because they deserve it despite the initial no to slow response.

Watch the video. In short it's great, but it takes a few moments to understand the potential functions because the manual isn't the clearest thing in the world. It's not impossible to understand like some reviews might imply, but it's not something non-tech savvy people will figure out quickly. Pro's: Best value to size to function ratio in my research into spectrum analyzer desk devices. Looks awesome, and is accurate and responsive. Has ton's of potential configuration choices. Absolutely worth the money. "Con's": The instructions aren't the best. ABSOLUTELY need the controller to set it how you want it (most of the functions are only accessible from controller, including time set). External microphone setting indeed works, but the bars won't be anywhere near exact and show as bass heavy. *USE AN ACTUAL INPUT for accurate bars and a better look tbh. *Can't confirm if you can switch off military time to 12h, as I haven't figured that out yet. Again watch video for demo. 4 stars potentially because until a few things are made easier or more clear, the product won't take off as fast as it could. But still giving 5 because I love it and it's a good deal.

I like the features and visuals. Good item. Not many to choose from in the market. This one is good on size and value. Doesn't take up too much desk space. I paired it with VU meter, shown on right side. Seller should add more similar projects, I would buy from again in a heartbeat. I do wish time could be shifted to 12 hr vs 24 hr. I would also like to buy other colors, amber would be nice. I don't mind the slightly confusing UI, I just set it and forget it. Overall very happy with product. Thank you.

Just what I was looking for, a graphic frequency display for my setup (this is daisy-chained between my Mac and my amplifier). The instruction manual is lacking, but it doesn't take long to figure things out (hint: use the remote control for everything). Once it's set up, you shouldn't have to touch it again.

Spectrum analyzer portion is very cool and exactly what I was looking for. The issue relates to the clock. I specifically bought this item because it is advertised as having a clock option without the seconds shown. It does, but when in auto mode (i.e., the analyzer is shown when there is an input signal but the clock is shown when not), the clock always reverts to hours, minutes, seconds. It appears that there is not an option to have the clock revert to just hours and minutes when in auto mode. Additionally, the clock seems to be ONLY 24-hour format. This makes it useless for half of the day for most people in the U.S. Until there is an update that fixes this, do not buy this if you want to use the clock and want it in 12-hour format.

If you're just looking for a retro looking fun spectrum analyzer, this works great. It has a clock function when not displaying audio spectrum. The REAL Blue VFD Display is just like vintage HiFi gear- totally love that. Features 2x 3.5mm stereo analog inputs (selectable via remote or front panel) and 1x 3.5mm stereo analog output. Also has a Bluetooth receiver w/ built-in DAC- this is where the disappointment lies in this device: The analog line output level using the BT receiver is too low to drive anything to a reasonably fun volume- I tried with 4 different amps. I emailed support and was told that's the limitation of the bluetooth chip. This is a real bummer because this is otherwise a perfect addition to many stereo setups. If they'd only have put another op-amp in there to give the line level a little boost- it's about 6dB below typical. If you really like, I guess you could add a pre-amp as another dongle. Oh well. Returned. BTW, I did not find the menu system that confusing as another reviewer stated. Once you poke around a bit, you figure it out.

works well and looks good, but price is a bit high. tbh, most graphic equalizers are very expensive. this is reasonable compared to others

When I discovered this product I had high hopes that it would add a bit of a light show when playing my audio equipment. Unfortunately this may be one of the worst designed user interfaces i have ever come across. I have spent hours trying to understand how to program this spectrum analyzer and have come to the conclusion it is basically unusable as a spectrum analyzer. If you finally find a setting you like you will have no idea how to recreate it easily again. Unplugging and plugging back in seems to reset this box, and just when you may like what it is doing.....this thing's clock feature will flash and roll randomly. The deal breaker is the clock feature CANNOT be turned off. I thought I was buying a spectrum analyzer.....not a clock. Either mine is broken or it was designed horribly. It's a shame. If it was much easier to use and had a better UI this may have been a keeper. Also adding the option to change the display colors would add value to this item. There is a market for this company's products .....but they are going to have to put much more thought into designing them better. Another thought....can they make the print ANY more tiny in the direction manual they send. I had to take a photo with my phone and enlarge it to even begin to read and understand it. Jeeze ......
