This is the only review you need to read, trust me. I’ve been professionally building PCs for 20 years. Corsair XTM70 Extreme is the best current paste that’s not a phase changing material like PTM7950 or a Liquid Metal based material. It’s easy to apply, has the coolest temps I’ve ever seen on high end AMD and Intel chips, and lasts a very long time under load. Corsair has came a long way with this paste compared to their prior formulas. It’s shocking even to me to say Corsair is the best for paste, even beating out Noctua, Grizzly, and others. Worth the price IF you want traditional paste.

Always the constant debate with thermal paste - how to apply? Single drop? ...of what size? Spread thin? HOW thin? So much discussion, and depending on the paste so much variety in effectiveness based on making the right or wrong choice. Not a problem, here! The included template you place on the CPU, then spread the thermal paste across it, smoothing it flat to fill the holes. You get the right coverage (precisely), the right depth (precisely), to ensure the optimum performance from the paste. Highly recommended!

This is nice for people applying thermal paste for the first time, because it takes away the guess work about how much to use. There is some waste though. It also works better than the paste I previously had. Average temps at idle are down between 1 and 6 degrees C, depending on which measurement you're looking at. See pictures. The previous paste was Tuniq TX-2. It should be noted that after you own this kit, you can buy just the paste separately going forward. The CPU is a 5950x, and the cooler being used is the Ice Giant Prosiphon Elite. It's housed in a Phantek Enthoo Pro case with fans in all available places.

So if the devil is really in the details, here's one that ought not be overlooked. My IT Pro tells me he knows of accounts where people skipped this step of applying this product before installing a cooler only to experience CPU failure due to lack of bonding & cooling. He also says the product fills microscopic voids in the metal and amplifies adhesion. Pro tip: the Corsair product includes its own retangular spatula like device to apply and get even distribution. We removed our cooler to reclock it and found the application was flawless so we reapplied it w confidence!

I did change my CPU cooler fans at the same time, so I can't really say what was the fans and what was the new paste at high load. At idle, though, this paste seems to maintain noticeably cooler temperatures. I'd say it seems to perform well but it may not be worth the price compared to other cheaper-yet-still-high-performance options. The application stencils are a nice idea, though I can't speak to their effectiveness as I have yet to take the cooler back off.

I have been struggling for my gaming laptop Alienware M15r3 as during gaming the temp was reaching 100+. While using other brands like grizzly and artic thermal paste, it would only for few days. I tried Corsair thermal paste now my temp during gaming is 70-75C I do recommend every gamer to use this, though its expensive but will save you alot of time
