10 Years [DVD] [2011]

Nice movie

This is a good film, with a bit of a mediocre start (after watching for about half an hour I was about to give up, but I am glad I watched it to the end). "10 years" is a sweet collective comedy about a high school reunion, which follows a group of school friends (some married, some heart-broken, some high-flying, some who got fat). Although Channing Tatum graces the cover of the case and, I understand, is supposed to be one of the main attractions of the film (he also co-produces), "10 years" has so many more great artists involved, inclining hilarious Chris Pratt (who never fails to make a fool of himself), Justin Long and Max Minghella et al. The cast blends organically and you really feel as if they knew each other for decades. I watched the extras and was surprised to see that the actors did not really follow the script word for word but improvised as the film was progressing, which just adds to the natural laughs and some of the good-hearted funny sequences.But the film is not just a simple comedy, it also has a few emotional scenes and side-lines. Kate Mara and Oscar Issac (playing high school oddballs who never got together) provide one of the best sub-stories of the film. A pleasure to watch. A pleasure to listen [to Oscar Issac sing].The film might feel a bit long, but all in all, I really enjoyed it. Not for everybody, and not for somebody who would wait to see Channing Tatum naked torso.

This movie is a 3 stars for me as the cast is a big ensemble but the two actors who shine in this movie are Kate Mara and Oscar Isaac, who play Elise and Reeves. Their story was the best in the movie and they were very cute together. From Reeves having a crush on Elise in high school, then when he sees her at the reunion and he spends most his time at the reunion with Elise, then Reeves singing his hit song, Never Had towards the end of the movie and Elise realises that he wrote it about her and then they get together at the end. Basically Reeves and Elise were so perfect in this movie, so cute. In conclusion, not a bad movie but the Reeves and Elise story is the only one to watch the movie for.

Not much going on really literally just a 10 yr reunion

The whole movie maybe a cliche but the one thing that carries this film is without a doubt the star quality, a surprisingly good cast including Magic Mike (Chaning Tatum)Llweyn Davis (Oscar Isaac), Star Lord (Chris Pratt) and dude that got hit with a spanner in Dodgeball (Justin Long). It is enjoyable, making you feel exactly how you should feel at the appropriate moments, funny, touching and believable all in equal measure with a cast that plays like alternate versions of them self if they weren't global stars, a film that is perfect to watch with the Mrs, And a good chance to show off your sensitive side. Unfortunately it isn't anything you haven't seen before, but it elevates slightly above mediocrity with its believable cast, plus you get to see what it would be like if Star Lord was an overweight drunk with a wife and kids.

If you like movies where the characters are the plot, then you'll probably enjoy this. 10 Years will perhaps seem slow to some, but if dialog, emotion, and longing looks are your thing it won't be a problem. A couple of really touching moments in 10 Years places it well above avarage, and Kate Mara and Oscaar Isaac knocks it out of the park with their poignant on-screen chemistry.Watch it if you enjoyed Like Crazy, Before Sunrise/Sunset, and Lost in Translation. 10 Years may not be their equal, but it is definitely, definitely worth a watch.

I expected more from this film! A lot more. It's not a bad movie but it's not my favourite of the year either...This is one of those films that give away the best parts in the trailer already. That's always a shame.It does show us the reality of reunions though. You want to show everybody how much you have changed and how well you are doing even though some have done nothing but stay the same.Well packaged, arrived on time and in great shape. Bought it for a very good price too.

For weeks and weeks this was on mt watch list ans I thought...It would be absolute pants.But, has mega names in it. So remained on my watch list...I'm glad it did.A real good movie that actually seemed like real friends meeting...it has that kind of authenticity and chemistry of characters and actors to be able to pull it off as a pretty decent recreation of a real event.Deffo worth a watch for a slow afternoon chilling and light hearted.Not overly funny or hysterical, more subdued...but still worth a fragment of your life to see. :)
