A Powerhouse for Gaming and Productivity - i5-13400F Delivers!
The Intel Core i5-13400F is an absolute gem for anyone building a mid-range gaming PC or a productivity workstation. After using it for a few weeks, I can confidently say it punches well above its weight in terms of performance and value. For gaming, this processor is a beast. Paired with a decent GPU, it handles modern AAA titles with ease, delivering smooth frame rates and minimal bottlenecks. I’ve tested it on games like Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, and Call of Duty, and it consistently performs without breaking a sweat. The lack of integrated graphics (hence the "F" suffix) isn’t an issue if you have a dedicated graphics card, and it helps keep the price down. When it comes to productivity, the i5-13400F shines just as brightly. With its 10 cores (6 performance cores and 4 efficient cores) and 16 threads, it handles multitasking like a champ. Whether I’m editing videos, streaming, or running multiple applications simultaneously, this CPU keeps everything running smoothly. The power efficiency is another standout feature. Despite its impressive performance, it runs relatively cool and doesn’t require an overly expensive cooling solution. My mid-tier air cooler keeps it at optimal temperatures even under heavy loads.Installation was straightforward, and it’s compatible with most LGA 1700 motherboards, making it a great option for both new builds and upgrades.Pros:Excellent gaming performanceGreat for multitasking and productivityPower-efficient and runs coolAffordable for its performance levelEasy to install and compatible with LGA 1700Cons:No integrated graphics (but not an issue if you have a GPU)Might require a BIOS update for older motherboardsIn summary, the Intel Core i5-13400F is a fantastic choice for gamers and content creators looking for a high-performance CPU without breaking the bank. It’s reliable, powerful, and offers incredible value for the price. Highly recommended!

Great CPU performance.
As you may be aware, a desktop builder can spend a lot of money for a CPU if performance is the only measure. However, the i5-13400 is a very affordable CPU and can run windows 11 extremely well. Personally, I decided to use the F Version (I5-13400F) as I wanted to do some gaming. I needed to add a graphics card for the ultimate performance for gaming. Compared to graphics cards, a builder can get far superior performance with a graphics card versus a built-in graphics in the CPU (i5-13400, non F version). We are talking 10X higher performance. So, in my case the F Version was lower cost and more useful if graphics is desired. If all you want is office, then the graphics performance is not required and the standard i5-13400 will fit the bill. In addition, this CPU is a 65W low power demand which keeps the heatsinking lower than the 125W CPU. But one should be aware that Intel makes a great CPU and is very reliable. I highly recommend this CPU.

Great budget gaming cpu
Great little processor that can easily get over 500 fps in valorant on low settings, and no I'm not being dramatic, I saw those numbers. Doesn't overheat at all, and has been running everything I throw at it. Very smooth and quick processing, love it!

Great Value Gaming CPU
Who should get this CPU?Someone who is value oriented but still wants great performance. It's really hard to beat this chip, especially if it can be found in the $130ish range which is I got mine for (used from Amazon seller). It didn't come with a cooler but I already had one. For 1080P gaming this is more than enough and unlike the previous generation 12400F, this has the E cores that will handle background tasks while gaming, leading to fewer stutters as the P cores focus on the gaming. This CPU sips power, unlike the higher binned Intel products and even with a basic/entry level motherboard like my B760M, it can run full power as long as it needs to without cutting wattage.Speaking of wattage, at 100% usage using CPU-Z "Stress", it maxes out at around 80W. Even with the dinky stock cooler, I'm seeing high 60's. Granted, as you can see in the picture, I run an open air setup because I'm cheap and I'm much more function over form.During gaming, I rarely see the CPU utilization go above 20%, showing that even if I were to step up to 1440P gaming, I'd have plenty of CPU for that as well. For those considering the 14400F, I'd save the 60-80 bucks as the 14400F is merely 2-3% faster as it's clocked 1-200Mhz higher and is otherwise the same. While the 12400F is a little cheaper than this, I like having the E cores during gaming, as Windows scheduler will direct background tasks go to the E cores.Tl;dr.Solid value chip that sips power, and is plenty of power for 1080P/1440P gaming and it works on cheap motherboards. Get this over the 12th gen, save $$$ vs the 14th gen that is barely faster.

A valuable budge to upgrade from i7 8700
The chip was delivered solidly and without issues. The fan is already prepared with thermal liquid to connect above the cpu.
