Stretchrite 3/4-Inch by 30-Yard White Buttonhole Knit Elastic Spool

If you're a sewer and make children's clothing than the only way to save on elastic is to buy it by the yard.This stretchrite knit button hole elastic is adjustable, perfect, for waistbands, and just right for children's clothing.I bought mine on a spool from SuperMart and saved time by buying on line for a good deal.Product arrived in timely fashion and as described. Pleased with purchase.

For anyone with changing waistline, this is wonderful. I like that you can cut along the long edge without messing it up for smaller casings. However, the button holes are TINY. I had to cut them to make then fit my normal size buttons. This spool will outlive me.

This is wonderful for adjusting waistband elastic in your own or your child's pants. I have a skinny kid with long legs, and they just don't make knit pants in a skinny size. The solution is to buy knit pants with a drawstring (theirs is never elastic, of course), or with fake drawstring ends, and remove that drawstring to insert this. (Make sure the drawstring casing is wide enough to accommodate 3/4" wide elastic. Sometimes the drawstring is sewn in at the back center seam - gotta hate that, more stitching to remove.First cut this elastic to more than the waist length desired, and sew a 1/2" flat, 2-hole button on one end of this elastic. You may want to finish the elastic ends with stitching or fray-check to keep them from unraveling. Feed the elastic through the casing using a safety pin if you don't have a bodkin. Fasten the button in a comfortable hole, and you're done. Why don't kid's knit pants come from the manufacturer this way? (I know, some of the woven pants do, but NEVER do the knit ones come this way.)

I needed to fix my granddaughter's slacks as she has a very tiny waist. Although her slacks fit everywhere else, she always has a gap in the back along the waistband. Saw an article on fixing this problem with the adjustable elastic buttonhole knit but found it very expensive at most fabric stores. As usual Amazon came through with a GREAT price. Now I have plenty. It may seem way too much to purchase but if you checkout your fabric stores, you'll find what a great deal this is even if I don't use it all!

This is one of the best purchases I have made for my growing collection of sewing products. This elastic, along with an elastic threader also purchased here on Amazon, allow me to convert a skirt waist from a plain waistband into an adjustable waistband in a few minutes. Simply open the seams at each end of the waist band, thread this elastic through the band, sew a button on both sides, and you now have an elastic, fully adjustable waist! If there is no seam in the right place, just use an exacto knife to slit the fabric, and then use a little dab of washable fabric glue on the edges of the cut fabric so it doesn't fray (or you can whip-stitch around the cut edges if you have more time/patience than I have!).

My second time ordering this. Three first order was done. This time I had several issues. 1. This wasn't in a continuous roll. So I wasted a lot from having remnants I couldn't use. 2. A lot of the buttonholes were unraveled so I couldn't use it. 3. A lot of it had black stains on it like it was either stwpped on or dragged through something. I threw away at least a quarter of this. I definitely won't be ordering this again.

I was kind of disappointed in this elastic. It seems very cheap and flimsy. I was expecting a more quality elastic.

The quality of this elastic is excellent. It is neatly milled and has nice flexibility. I used it for a more robust elastic for fitted bed sheets. Since this requires a long length for king sheets, this product provided more than enough elastic for 3 fitted sheets with elastic left over. The price made it a much more economical choice than buying multiple packages available in most stores.

I didn't know this product existed and when I found it on the internet I decided to see if I could order it online ... the product is amazing and the delivery of it was faster than I expected. I am making boys shorts to send to Haiti and since I do not know their waist size this product is perfect!! I have made 9 pairs of shorts with it so far and I am more than thrilled :)

I am making skirts to put in Operation Christmas Child boxes to send to girts ages 10-14. Using this great elastic is allowing me to make the skirts so they can be adjusted in the waist by whoever receives them, and should the skirts last that long, allow the girls to make them bigger as they grow. Lots of product and value for the cost!
