Mel Chin: Rematch Hardcover – April 30, 2014

I am currently working at a museum where Mel Chin is having a sort of retrospective called "Mel Chin: All Over the Place" at the Queens Museum. I bought this book to do research on his work to better interact with visitors. It was an invaluable purchase. I recommend it to anyone interested in getting an overall look at the artist and his work up to about 2014. Some of the pieces in the show are recently created and not covered here, but for the most part, the reader will be delighted with the abundance of material and illustrations.

To wander through the mind and creativity of Mel Chin is a rare experience and this is a rare opportunity to do so. The illustrations are accompanied by some description of the motivation behind the piece….but it is a jumping off place from which you are invited toexplore your own reactions and emotions.Beautiful book.

I would recommend that anyone that likes Mel's work, buy this book!
