Let's get a few things straight...One reviewer had some issues with this fire, marks on it, remote didn't work, and oh yes, it's made of MDF not Metal!Well, look at the description, it states and I Quote:"Stylish and Durable - Designed with a Cream / Warm Grey cast iron effect finish, MDF housing"MDF NOT metal, and to be honest if you have that many issues with it, just send it back, Amazon do a great return service...Anyway, my one turned up today, a nice big box, very well packed, opened it, debagged it and...Oh, finger marks on it, not many but obviously somebody in the packing department had dirty hands - not a show stopper, a anti-bacterial wet-wipe soon cleaned that off - no problem.The finish, yes, it is painted MDF and so it will not look as good as cast iron, but then cast iron is £100 dearer so you get what you pay for.I plugged it in, put batteries in the remote control and guess what? It works!Yes, it works, it looks fantastic, works just the way it should, the flame effect looks great, the heater works, it has a timer and it is quiet!After having a coal effect fire that was almost as loud as my computer (that was just the coal effect) it is such a joy to have a lovely looking piece of furniture that is functional and looks great.If I were to make one improvement, it would be put yellow or orange bulbs in to deepen the log colour, make it a bit warmer but that is all I would do.Am I happy? absolutely, a great looking fire that is excellent value for money.Oh, and a message to the packing department - Tell your guys to wash their hands before handling these fires - job done.

Very poor quality . It looks nice from a distance but the paint work is very poor. It arrived with a lot of marks on it which wouldn’t wipe off. It’s MDF not metal. The remote doesn’t work either . Very disappointed with this item especially considering the price, it certainly wasn’t one of the cheaper ones on the market. I wouldn’t recommend buying this item.
