I traded a pair of binoculars for a metal detector and I bought this handheld detector as an accessory... It was a great decision the 9-volt battery has lasted for months with no problem the bright color green is easy to find and scratch resistant I also like the little snap-on belt holster to keep my hands-free... The audio beeper is plenty loud and easy to determine and the digital readout is a great bonus and pretty easy to read if the sun's not directly on it

THis hand held battery operated metal detector. This is the perfect gift for a guy who's going to be retiring very soon now he will have something to Do. The instructions are easy to understand and how to operate it. Comes with a rope handle that you can attach so you don't lose the metal detector. It has a digital display And the sounds when you are close to a metal object. Is great value for the money.

Works very well but I’m new to the hobby so don’t wanna give a review that is wrong

The media could not be loaded.  A metal detector pin pointer is basically a smaller, handheld metal detector that will laser in on a target at close proximity. However, if you are doing some serious metal detector search, before you set out on the hunt, be sure to check the rules and regulations for using a metal detector in your area.That said, I am not a treasure hunter myself, and just wanted to have a tool that will allows me to search for lost screws (or tool-bits) lost in the grass. And this portable wand works perfect for this use. It’s even equipped with a quite bright LED light that will turn on automatically when the unit is turned ON.Everything needed to start using this device comes inside the box. They provided the required 9v battery, as well as the little belt hostler to carry it with you when out and about. From my test, it detects all kind of metal very well, and even triggered on penny coin. When testing, it even found a coin that was lost in the grass (see video).Another practical use of this handled metal detector I found, is that it could also be used as a security search wand, to search people entering a secure area, for hidden weapon for instance, as it detected my watch, knife and belt under my clothes without any problem.

Just what we needed

I should of brought the thing long ago. To revisit the countless hours I spent fumbling thru dirt.now I go straight to my find and waste no more time. I love the pinpoint accuracy ..and you should too

I've been metal detecting for a few decades. I've had my share of pinpointers and this blows my old tech ones away.With the old ones, I used to have to touch the object to get a signal. With this, I can sweep the hole/plug and zero in on the object from several inches away.Seems to be plenty tough as I've been using it to scrape in the hole and break up clumps of dirt without issue.Keep your main unit away when using or there will be cross chatter.Get some Energizer batteries because the included battery is a typical freebie.So far I'm pleased I didn't spend 3+ times the price on one of the name brands.

The display screen needs to be brighter. Can't see it in the daylight.
