Like it says, this is the most useful tool you've never heard about. It is just as necessary as a timing light. It takes the guesswork and inference out of adjusting carburetors, not just the mixture but also things like the accelerator pump shot, mixture over different rpm ranges, and so on. Instead of inferring the best settings for your carbs by doing a grid search over different sizes, and tons of road testing, this tool allows you to observe the mixture with a decent degree of precision so you can directly observe mixture patterns. I used this to adjust my SU44 dual carbs, then put it on my 22R Weber for fun, and found out that the Redline accelerator pump shot is WAY too big, and is responsible for the rich condition on that carb. There is no other way to determine an accelerator pump issue like that. This tool is the next best thing to a code reader and O2 sensor.

I bought this to use to tune the carb on my custom motorcycle. I had changed the pipes and replaced the airbox with a velocity stack, which meant rejetting. I had gotten it tuned fairly well (I thought!) and had been riding it for about a year like that. After hearing about the Colortune, I thought I'd give it a try. Instantly it was obvious the needled needed to be adjusted, it was WAY too rich. I moved it a couple notches, got a nice blue color and put it all back together. I immediately rode better, with much better throttle response and power, but that was just based on how it felt to me. A week later I went on a road trip with the bike and when I stopped to get gas, based on the odometer I should have needed it, the take was still half full! Quick math showed I'd been getting 60 miles a gallon! In the years since I modified it, the best I ever got was 42. When I bought it, before modifications, it got 50 on the highway. I could not believe it. But three tanks later, I was getting the same results! Colortune is worth every penny. Its easy to use, and the difference in mileage and performance it made is awesome!

came in reasonable time, but NO protective packaging, item was in plastic bag and box inside was crushed. Luckily the parts themselves appear ok. Suggest vender put item in better more protective box. Update: tried the Colortune on my XKE... works great and allows me to really refine the SU carb settings. Would buy again.

So far so good, so glad to have found this because setting carbs is defiantly a lost art. I use this on my Classic Porsche, it’s not only for small engines, works on any carbureted engine.

I got lazy. This is my second one. I have a 240Z and the Colortune is a great way to set your dual carbs. Having 2 now i can set both carbs at the same time which is easier to match the color and get the match closer

I initially received the wrong kit size from the vendor, but then he worked with me to correct the error. Very good service. The kit works well, I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to get rid of any guesswork when it comes to tuning carbs.

I bought this because as a novice, after doing online research, I was feeling somewhat intimidated about tuning the carbs on my MGB roadster and I thought that this would provide me with an "easy" solution. And it did :) It seems that it is a bit of a "Marmite" product that you either hate or love. More experienced vintage car enthusiasts claim that it is inaccurate and unnecessary while other, probably less experienced owners, love it for its simplicity. I am a believer. It is incredibly easy to use and allowed me to tune my carbs to a significantly better state quickly and without stress. As a side benefit, it also provides you with the pretty cool opportunity to actually see the bang going on inside your engine! :) Remember that if you have a multi-carb engine, you will need to use this on one cylinder being fed by EACH of the carbs One caveat. The colortune is only an indication of fuel/air mixture combustion and therefore, in my opinion, does not replace a full carb tuning an balancing process. It does however give you the opportunity to easily get a close approximation to improve your ignition burn and running. In my case it also removed the vooodoo factor and made me more confident to then learn to fully tune the carbs on my car.

Ich kann nur sagen das diese tolle Glas Zündkerze super funktioniert, man kann die Verbrennung wunderbar sehen und auch die Veränderung wenn man das Gemisch am Vergaser einstellt so das die Flamme nicht mehr gelb sondern schön blau wird. Kann es nur empfehlen habe sie bei einer Dnepr und eine Harley Davidson benutzt und es hat hervorragend funktioniert so das die Zündkerze nach der Probefahrt schön rehbraun war.
