Very cute
Cute set, one of them broke very quickly, but otherwise we really like it.

Some minor issues
These we’re almost perfect except there were chips at some of the seams and they were very hard to pull apart. I ended up using my electric nail file to file the seams down to make it more even at the chips and make it easier to pull apart. But over all not bad I still had fun making my own set.

It is a cheap piece of garbage. The figurenes stuck together where they could NOT be separated.
It's junk. Made of cheap plastic and the pieces don't fit together correctly. One piece was so tightly wedged inside another that I couldn't separate the pieces.

Cute Animal Nesting Dolls - Took Some Work to Open the First Time
First the good: My 21-month-old granddaughter can name all the animals (although we call the mole a squirrel) and she enjoys opening and closing things and putting things inside and taking them out.Less good: These aren't as refined as authentic Russian stacking dolls we've owned. In fact, no adult could get most of them open without prying with a knife. Maybe it was paint or finish that needed to be broken. Don't know. But we did this without damaging the dolls. Then my wife ran some #100 sandpaper around the lip and now the toddler can open and close the dolls with eases. So I'm just knocking one point.I did see the note in the product description that said to pull straight apart, not twist. That didn't work.

Some figures were very hard to open
This is a cute nesting doll set, but the polar bear was hard to open. I had to hold onto the slight flair at the doll's base and use more force than I'd like to wiggle off the top. After that, the other animals were easier to take apart- though the owl stuck a little bit too.Other than the issue separating the halves on the two dolls, this is a good set. Unlike the CozyCabin* brown bear nesting doll set, the color scheme and design for this set is uniform. (The CozyCabin set has a rabbit painted on the front and back of a doll with a bright blue background instead of having the doll be the rabbit's body. It looks odd.) It looks lovely when taken apart and put on display. The polar bear sits flat, but some of the other animals, like the penguin, have a slightly rounded bottom and wobble nicely when tapped. This is a cute set, but I'm planning on sanding down the inside of the two hard-to-open dolls before gifting this set to my son.Packaging: The dolls come in a plain box with an inner plastic bag.

Oh the possibilities
Oh the possible designs I could paint. These are not Linwood, which is the traditional wood used for Matryshoskas. But these are nicely sanded and smooth and ready to go. Maybe do a light dusting, wipe with a wet cloth before beginning your paintings.I have been sketching out my designs and I Have not decided on a particular theme yet. But these are just bursting with possibilities, I think I need a few more.
